aqua nueva, located in the heart of the West End, has reopened with a striking design and contemporary Spanish menu. Head Chef Alberto Hernandez offers a menu of small plates and Spanish dishes that honour his country’s culinary heritage and innovation, combining the best seasonal produce with his contemporary style, perfectly reflecting modern diners’ appetite for flexible dining.
The Robert Angell design is inspired by rich Spanish culture and has re-focused the space to unveil a beautiful open restaurant and central destination bar. Intricate black and white mosaic floors run throughout and a striking copper-coloured vaulted ceiling imitates the inside of the renowned sherry casks of Jerez. Guests can sit back and relax on chic banquette seating whilst catching glimpses of the chefs at work in the kitchen.

Christmas may have come and gone but the tradition in Spain means many people celebrate El Día de Los Reyes Magos, otherwise known as Three Kings Day, on 6th January. Known to have brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, aqua nueva is celebrating the Three Kings all week long with three new cocktails, a dessert and ‘golden ticket’ gifts.
Taking the namesake of each gift given, try the Gold cocktail made with Suntory Toki whisky, Lustau vermouth and Cointreau, topped with bubbles and a touch of edible gold sparkle, or take a sip of the Frankincense cocktail with Cîroc vodka, Mezcal, tart grapefruit juice, spicy ginger beer and a dash of Frankincense. Finally, you can also enjoy the Myrrh cocktail, made with Tio Pepe, Cocchi Torino, Dolin de Chambery dry Vermouth and a spritz of Myrrh, priced at £9 each or as part of a flight for £16, available until 13th January. Another El Día de Los Reyes Magos tradition that shouldn’t be missed is the Roscón de Reyes dessert. This dish is usually enjoyed after gifts are opened so aqua nueva will be serving it as a special dessert until 12th January. Stop by for lunch or dinner and try this celebratory dessert, £9, topped with candied fruit, symbolising precious gems that adorned the Wise Men’s clothing. Finally, El Día de Los Reyes Magos wouldn’t be a celebration without gifts, so they’re also giving guests a chance to win an aqua nueva experience, drink or dine in the restaurant until 13th January and you’ll receive a gift with your bill for a chance to win one of three prizes. Join aqua kyoto or aqua nueva for a bespoke menu in each restaurant, served with a glass of Champagne for you and your loved one. Enjoy contemporary Japanese cuisine at aqua kyoto with a six course menu, featuring dishes such as Rock shrimp tempura with kimchee sauce and seaweed, and Beluga bass with tomato miso zuma salad and bonito. Or you can experience innovative Spanish cuisine at aqua nueva with a five course menu, including dishes such as Hand dived scallops with “txangurro” crab & cauliflower, and Fillet of Galician beef with potato gratin and bone marrow sauce.
