Independent charity Historic Royal Palaces has announced that a brand new events venue is to be installed in the beautiful gardens of Kensington Palace in 2018. The Kensington Palace Pavilion, a glass fronted building overlooking the palace’s famous Sunken Garden, will replace the Orangery at Kensington Palace for three years. Flooded with light and situated in the heart of the palace grounds, it will be available for hire from March 2018.
The sumptuous State Apartments are a succession of lavish, opulent rooms set in the heart of Kensington Palace. The Cupola Room, King’s Drawing Room, King’s Gallery and Queen’s Gallery provide glimpses into the Palace’s history as a residence for previous British monarchs. The magnificent décor and regal ambience provide a befitting palatial setting for drinks receptions and dinners. Individually, these spaces can host up to 100 guests for dinner and 170 guests for a reception or when combined the spaces will accommodate 310 seated or 420 standing guests.
The Entrance Hall hosts up to 300 guests for a reception or 140 guests for dinner. A beautifully designed Loggia welcomes visitors into the palace from newly landscaped gardens. Guests can enjoy the magnificent array of spaces available, flowing through from the grand entrance to Stone Hall, White Court and The Stone Staircase upon which Victoria and Albert first set eyes upon each other in 1836. Drinks or dinners can be enjoyed around a stunning light sculpture which has been fashioned in the lace pattern of Queen’s Victoria’s wedding dress and features 12,000 Swarovski crystals. The Vestibule provides an inspiring introduction to the rest of Kensington Palace and is the perfect starting point for tours of the current exhibitions. In addition, the perfectly manicured lawns and quirky topiary of The East Front Gardens provide a beautiful outdoor space for drinks receptions or private dinners amidst tranquil gardens.
The Sunken Garden is a unique venue for outdoor receptions hosting up to 80 guests. Drinks can be enjoyed amidst the fabulous flowers of this charming private garden.
