About Kings Place
The award-winning Dixie Jones architects and global leaders Arup Acoustics have teamed up to create Kings Place; a truly fantastic venue with world-class acoustics and state-of-the-art technology. Kings Place is a major arts venue and provides bars, dining areas, a water front restaurant, a conference and events centre and a Grade A office complex. In addition the building is environmentally sustainable.
Kings Place has the first modern purpose-built recital and public concert hall. There is also a second, smaller hall and both these spaces are used to host a variety of musical performances and styles as well as spoken word events. Kings Place also has two spaces dedicated to visual arts; Pangolin London and Kings Place Gallery. These galleries are regularly used for touring exhibitions and changing displays. There are seven levels within the building above the ground floor which are available as commercial office space. The large floor areas have plenty of natural light and access to external and internal vistas.
Kings Place features dashing contemporary design such as the three-layered undulating glass facade which covers the west-facing York Way frontage. This transparent surface is made up of multiple slightly curved sheets of glass and is practical as well as aesthetically pleasing. The design enables visitors to visually locate the building quickly from Kings Cross station and reduces heat gain from the sun. The main entrance on York Way leads the visitor into the Atrium, a stunning public space at the heart of the building. The Atrium allows visitors to see all the higher levels within the building, the canal-views and York Way. Additionally the Atrium lets plenty of natural light to flood into the building and houses many public facilities including bars and restaurants.
Kings Place is available for private and artistic hire. The professional in-house production team are able to assist clients in hosting their events. Every event is specially tailored to suit the client and priced according to individual need. Kings Place is an ideal events space for those in want of a large venue.
