Brunch, Sunflowers And Hot Air Balloons: 10 Things To Do This Weekend

18th July 2024 | By Andrea Pinto

With the big sporty weekend behind us, it’s time to go back to life without tennis and football – so we’ve found a new brunch spot, a hot air balloon regatta and sunflowers instead. Here’s our picks of some pretty cool things to do in and around London this weekend.

Try a new weekend brunch

There’s a new weekend brunch in town, and this one’s not your regular eggs and pancakes – UBA is putting its signature pan-Asian spin on brunch. We have a feeling you’re going to want to try out the Japanese waffles – made from green tea and buckwheat, these are served with spinach, smashed avocado, tender stem broccoli, watercress, onsen egg and a sweet blend of smoky maple and chilli jam. Launching on Saturday with a bottomless drinks package, this sounds like the sort of brunch that needs a spot on your bucket list.

Watch London’s hot air balloon regatta

The Hot Air Balloon Regatta is set to take place this Sunday, with kickoff in Battersea Park at 5.30am – so you’ll have to set your alarms if you don’t want to miss it. The route takes the balloons over London’s most iconic spots including Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace and you don’t have to do much to catch it (just look up at the sky!). This one’s weather dependent though, so we’ll know for sure only by Friday if it’s on – but fingers crossed!
