If you’re petrified of heights look away now because we’re about to explore the world’s highest climbing wall and it’s scheduled to land in London this summer…
The impressive climbing wall isn’t the only thing arriving this summer. The wall itself will be set inside a brand new skyscraper that you’ll find towering over the Leadenhall building and the Gherkin without a care in the world, making way for a workspace fit for up to 12,000 individuals. And, the skyscraper is set to intertwine one of London’s largest food markets too. So, you know, the arrival of 22 Bishopsgate is a pretty big deal for business dwellers, self-confessed foodies and avid rocker climbers alike.
Anyway, back to the important stuff – the climbing wall.
I might be bringing my outdated rocking climbing traumas from my childhood (school activity holidays will forever haunt me) but it’s hardly the typical spot you’d expect to find a towering climbing wall. But, then again, London never does things by halves. You’ll find the country’s highest and most impressive climbing wall 25 storeys up in the air (that’s 125 metres from the ground to you and me!) and it’ll be nuzzled inside their fully-equipped gym. So, if you get wobbly feet just at the thought of being at the top of a skyscraper, then this probably isn’t for you.
But, if you revel in the rush of adrenaline, you’ll want to tape your go-pro to your head as you’ll be subject to breathtaking views out over London’s wildly fabulous skyline as you climb the wall, well window.
Designed by PLP Architecture, 22 Bishopsgate combines work, wellness and play all in one, and we’re already excited to try out the new food vendors and make the brave climb up the wall.
