As we begin to settle into our fourth week in lockdown here in the UK and spring starts to creep its shimmering sunshine into our windows, I’m sure we’re all missing our daily dosage of outdoors. For us, we’re really missing the humble picnic, whether it’s heading to the local park with friends, bag of sharing crisps in tow, or heading out into the countryside for a road trip and a hamper full of provisions for a weekend adventure.
If you’re lucky enough to have a garden in this city, you can entertain yourselves and housemates by throwing down a blanket and creating your own picnic time, but for those without a garden or spot of patio, we’re turning our head to the indoor picnic. While it’s not quite the same, we can still enjoy sensational foodie supplies and popping open a bottle of Prosecco or two with a little help from these seven traders who are serving up serious hamper action.
Throw down a blanket and enjoy your indoor picnic with one of these sensational hampers.
Pulling out all of the stops as always is Harrods and their selection of luxury picnic hampers that you’d be a fool not to try.

Expect to be dipping into a glass or two of specially selected bottles from Harrods’ specialist wine connoisseurs, everything from Charendelle Bordeaux to Domaine de Pellehaut Chardonnay. Or, if you’re delighting in your picnic for an early lunchtime treat, enjoy The Rutland hamper, concocted of Colombian San Agustin roasted ground coffee and English breakfast tea, plus a few sweet treats to hold you over until dinner.

London’s original Jewish deli can still be found serving up the finest culinary favourites during this current lockdown period. Right now, Panzer’s may have stopped selling their hampers but you can recreate your own with a little help from their online grocery store.
Using their usual hampers as inspiration, why not create the ultimate picnic experience at home, picking out your favourite snacks and buffet staples from their wide selection.
Take a minute to giggle at The Cheese Geek’s hilariously named hamper boxes before ordering your favourite selection. We love the Sonny and Cher selection thanks to its array of cured meats and cheeses. Think pink peppercorn and Purbeck Cider salami, Hartgrove Coppa and Cornish kern.
Just because we’re currently stuck indoors and we can’t go and enjoy an afternoon wandering around The Royal Exchange and it’s fabulous boutiques and shops, doesn’t mean celebrations should go forgotten. Treat your loved one to a hamper of dreams courtesy of the king of hampers, Fortnum & Mason. Their celebration gift box is filled with goodies including Marc de Champagne truffles, Gold & Silver sugared almonds, strawberry and Champagne preserve, Ceylon orange pekoe loose leaf tea and of course, a bottle of crisp Blanc de Blancs Champagne.
