November has seen a steady drip feed of all the traditional markers of the festive season – the Christmas lights are finally switching on,  the first snow has fallen, and now, the private members club Annabel’s has unveiled their highly anticipated festive facade. It’s official, Christmas is here.

This year, the theme is one of its best yet: “The Wardrobe: A World of Wonder.” Announced on November 18th, this year’s design maintains the club’s reputation for show-stopping themed exteriors.

The installation transforms the iconic entrance on Berkeley Square into an ornate wardrobe, with doors opening to reveal a winter realm of snow-dusted trees and shimmering icicles. At its heart stands a magnificent lion, which acts as a delicate guardian to the space. The Wardrobe hopes to inspire those who pass by to “reconnect with the magic of hope” and symbolise the strength it takes to protect our world.

Designed by Tatiana Kharchylava, Creative Director of The Birley Clubs, the work is in collaboration with The Caring Family Foundation’s (TCFF) “Food From The Heart” campaign, extending Annabel’s commitment to giving back. The display will be there for all to enjoy right through the festive period.

While public comments on the new design are just starting to emerge, the initial reaction from those who have seen it is expected to be overwhelmingly positive, much like its predecessors which were hailed as “Stunningly beautiful” and looking “straight out of a fairy tale.” One thing you can count on is that this members’ club is one you can always count on to bring a commitment to a theme.
