Yearning For The Weekend? Here’s What To Do With It
If you’ve just packed your kids at school you’re possibly dreading the fact they’re going to boomerang back into your daytime this weekend. But fear not, there’s plenty to be doing.
Hotel Café Royal
A blast from the past
As my father always says: ‘The old ones are always the best’, and this really does apply in the case of the Green Bar at Hotel Café Royal who have dug up their Café Royal Cocktail Book of 1937. Apparently something of a bible among bartenders, they’ve built a new menu around their historic menu, which goes back through the ages for a century’s ride through cocktails from the early twentieth century to the present day.
The menu is available now!

Barrio Brixton
Welcome to healthy boozing
If you thought your local bar was your last escape from the world of fitness, think again. Barrio Brixton have teamed up with House of Voga, but there’s a difference. It’s yoga but also with the added boozy-ness of Barrio’s Latino-inspired bottomless brunch. The event, this Saturday, will involve 80s Latino vibes, amazing food and cocktails but with a bit of yoga-ing thrown in. This could be the most genius ploy to get me into being healthy that I’ve ever seen.
Saturday 8th September
Where: 30 Acre Lane, Brixton, SW2 5SG
