The Latest Sandals Set To Sell Out This Summer

Hot weather calls for new sandals, so we’re here to help you find the perfect pair. Below are the hottest footwear trends and the summer sandals everyone wants in their wardrobe.
Book that pedicure now, as it’s officially sandal season. It’s time to free those toes and slip into 2025’s fave summer sandals. Plus, thanks to luxury labels rewriting the rule book regarding summer shoe trends, we will be living in flip-flops and jelly shoes. Yep, you read correctly. Not only has one of the most basic slip-ons become the current must-have, but those childhood, candy-coloured pumps are back for us grown-ups. I’m banking on them being way more comfortable than back in the day.
For something a little more edgy, the fisherman aesthetic remains strong. Spotted on the runways at Michael Kors, Miu Miu, and Simone Rocha, this caged style has sealed its spot as one of the top trends for this summer. Hermès, Miu Miu, and Totême are also big contenders for footwear inspo with their sleek sliders, mocha-coloured two-strap sandals and studded clogs. But, as always, look to brands such as M&S, Zara and Reiss for more affordable options.

The thong sandal
Flip-flops have brought their A-game. A far cry from the rubbery beach essentials we know and love, these toe-post sandals have entered the realms of high fashion. Obviously, we’re still going to add them to our holiday arsenal, but these simple yet chic faves have become everyday cool.
The Row and Toteme have really pushed this pared-back, simple vibe, but others, such as Alaia, Miu Miu and Carven are also on board. But, let’s face it, while undeniably gorgeous, The Row flip flops will set you back £700. Tempting, but also bank-breaking. Thankfully, H&M is here for the affordable and the chic.
Flip flops and thong sandals have never looked so stylish. They’ve become a beautiful marriage of beach vibes and minimalist chic.
The slider
I’m not sure if there’s a more chic look than a designer slide. I’m not talking about squishy poolside sliders. I mean the leather style slip ons inspired by the iconic Hermès Oran sandal. Instantly recognisable due to the ‘H’ shape of the strap, the look has become one of the most desirable designs. As a result, similar iterations are vast.
The 2 strap
For footwear that errs on the side of nomcore, it’s got to be a pair of two-strap sandals. Super comfy, good for your feet, and versatile enough to pair with everything, from shorts and a shirt to cami dresses, they will complement all your summer looks. Birkenstocks are the obvious choice, but the high street has plenty of inspired styles to try, too. For something a little quirkier, I’m loving the Ganni leopard print sandals.
The fisherman sandal
Bear with us here: these may look like they’re plucked straight from a 1970s fisherman’s wardrobe, but thanks to luxe brands like Simone Rocha, Prada and The Row, the caged sandal is having a moment. Look to Zara, Whistles, and John Lewis for amazing high street options to pair with loose summer suits or floaty dresses.
The jelly sandal
There’s nothing like a bit of nostalgia mixed in with the latest trends. And that’s precisely what Chloé delivered with this season’s Jelly PVC sandals: take something cute and make it fashion. Unsurprisingly, many labels were quick to follow, especially Ancient Greek Sandals with its Jellies collection. Love it.
