Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would have heard about the anticipated launch of Glossier’s first-ever foundation which has been in the making for 7 years! Created on the back of the successful and cult-loved Stretch Balm Concealer back in 2016, since then, beauty junkies have been asking for higher-coverage and bigger concealer pots as so many Glossier fans were applying the concealer over their entire face like they would a foundation. And so Glossier Stretch Foundation was born.
We predict this new beauty launch will be trending all over social media in a matter of days. Want an honest review? Our resident Beauty Editor, Tamara Corin, is here to weigh in.
Glossier has always celebrated skin first, so I wasn’t surprised to learn that this foundation is designed with an 89% skincare base. It ticked all the boxes – it’s quick-drying, absorbs immediately and has a light gel-cream texture that contains skin-loving ingredients, squalane, and glycerin to nourish and hydrate the skin’s moisture barrier. Plus, it’s also packed with wild rose berry and a plankton extract that balances out oil levels and shine. After much deliberation, I tried the Medium 2 shade, which went undetected on my skin.

How To Apply
I don’t have the time to faff about with makeup brushes, so my fingers are my go-to for quick and easy makeup application. This buildable formula is a solid consistency for blending and buffing with fingers.
If, however, you prefer brush application, Glossier has introduced a new palm-held Stretch Face Brush (below) for an ultra-precise application designed to mimic how we use our fingertips. The thoughtful design ensures that your brush is always kept clean, while the curved shape is perfect for the corners of your nose and buffing around the jawline. Though, truthfully, my fingers did just as good a job at blending.
I am not shy to admit that I am a sucker for great packaging and Glossier has nailed it once again with this foundation’s aesthetic appeal, keeping with its clean lines and no-nonsense style.
The Final Result
This foundation performs like a foundation – the packaging is subtle yet chic and the shade range is impressive. As for coverage, I personally enjoy a lighter barely-there finish on my skin. Saying that, if I was at a special event such as a wedding and I needed longer, fuller coverage, I wouldn’t hesitate to turn to this Stretch Fluid Foundation, as I know I’ll be well-covered and shine-free.
The shade range
The foundation is available in an epic 32 hues across seven shade categories: very light, light, medium, medium tan, medium deep, deep, and very deep and five undertone groups. The brand has also expanded its range of the popular Stretch Balm Concealer to 32 shades as an added complement. It’s fair to say, whatever your skin tone, you’re spoilt for choice.
I’m incredibly impressed with the staying power, lightweight finish, and shade range. I was expecting the foundation to feel heavier on my skin given that it’s fuller coverage, but I forgot I was wearing it. I’m usually an all-year-round tinted moisturiser kinda gal, but this new foundation had me at hello!
