Nicole Kidman Stars In Twisted New Thriller Holland

She’s just been onscreen in the erotic thriller Babygirl, and her next project has just landed: Nicole Kidman’s new film, Holland, is now available on Amazon Prime Video. The actress isn’t straying from the thriller genre either, with the film telling the story of a woman whose perfect life suddenly gets turned upside down, leaving her questioning everything. Alongside her in the cast is Succession star Matthew Macfadyen– here’s everything you need to know
What is Holland about?
While Kidman’s new movie is set to release worldwide today, we know surprisingly little about the plot details before now. The Holland in the title refers not to a European country nor a Spider-Man actor, but a city in Michigan, the film’s setting. Kidman’s character is Holland resident Nancy Vandergroot, who works as a devoted teacher and lives an apparently perfect life. Her husband (played by Macfadyen) is a popular and respected pillar of the community, the couple have a son, and generally, things seem idyllic for her. But this will all change when she begins to suspect her husband is keeping a secret from her and that she’s been living a lie.

The unpredictable thriller shows Nancy caught in the disintegration of her happy midwestern life into the unknown as she begins to suspect her husband has been unfaithful to her. She gets help from her trusted colleague to discover the truth, but the two will uncover more than they could have imagined, discovering that he’s been leading a dark double life.
What exactly he’s been up to is, of course, under wraps, but it’s safe to say that nothing is as it seems. Holland is directed by Mimi Cave, who also directed the Daisy Edgar-Jones starring horror thriller Fresh, so you can definitely expect some twists and turns, as well as something of a winking, offbeat sense of humour.
What else do we know?
Alongside Kidman and McFayden will also star Gael García Bernal (The Mother), Jude Hill (Belfast), Rachel Sennott (Saturday Night), Lennon Parham (Minx) and Jeff Pope (Interview With The Vampire). Holland releases worldwide on Amazon Prime today [27th March].
