What’s your first beauty memory?
A childhood beauty memory that really sparked my career was when at the age of six, I discovered a box of my Mum’s teenage makeup at my grandmother’s house. Mary Quant crayons, Coty lip glosses, Elizabeth Arden cream eyeshadows – I was instantly captivated by the tactile, gloopy textures and heady cosmetic scents. This box of crayons was my absolute favourite item, so much more interesting than the crayons and coloured pencils I was using at the time. I was always drawing faces, so I started to use vintage makeup to supplement my crayons. I loved that you could get all these different effects on paper. It certainly triggered a curiosity and passion for colour and texture that continues to this day.
What beauty advice would you give your twenty-year-old self?
If we’ve learned anything, it’s that trends come and go so I don’t feel pressured to be ‘on trend’ as everything is so fast-moving today so what’s fashionable today probably won’t be within a year or two…. I would tell her “‘experiment… and don’t regret anything!”
Do you have any well-being rituals? If so, what are they?
Facial massage! I learnt the importance of facial massage from my Mum and trust me, you only have to see her to see the evidence of its beautifying benefits. I always try and incorporate even 30 seconds of facial massage in with my skincare routine.
What’s on your beauty repeat buy list?
Followers of my YouTube channel will know I have been using Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate for years, I also carry this in my pro kit. The rich formula is super hydrating and can be used on hands, face, and body. It makes the perfect base for makeup. At the moment, I’m also loving the Mary Kay Hyrdrogel Patches for under the eyes, the pre-shampoo treatment Omorovicza Scalp Mask, and Dr. Shereene Idris’ The Depuffer.

Where do you shop for special and unique beauty finds?
You can’t beat a French pharmacy, although these days they’re much more readily available, I still prefer a French Pharmacy shop to buying them in a department store back home – and there is always the excitement of discovering something new! Whenever I travel to Paris for work, I will make time to swing by City Pharma at 26 Rue Four, 75006.
What are your go-to skin saviours?
My Skin Enhancing Treatment Cleanser – it’s hardworking, multifunctioning… I can’t be without it! Back when I was developing it, we only had little bottles available to try and test, my team used to joke it was this ‘liquid gold’… there would always be a rush to nab the samples!
What are your makeup bag heroes?
Have you got a signature scent?
I mix things up a lot, and don’t have a signature scent per se – but I love the perfumes of Serge Lutens – and find the way he writes inspiring.
What is your beauty golden rule?
The golden rule is that there are no rules! I always say, beauty isn’t a one size fits all. What works for one person may not work for another.
Apart from that… I ALWAYS abide by applying makeup in thin layers… and blend blend blend!
What products does every party girl need in her clutch bag?
My Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow! I call it my sixty seconds to sparkle, it’s a quick and easy way of dialling up your eye to take you from day to night.
Any tips on how to avoid your makeup falling down your face during the night?
For your most naturally perfected and long-lasting complexion yet, I love applying makeup using my signature Patchwork Skin technique… the secret is to only apply coverage only where you need it…buffing your foundation in thin layers that are imperceivable. Buffing in thin layers means you can touch up throughout the night too, if you need to.
How do you create the perfect festive party look?
If I’m glamming up for a festive dinner or drinks, I love a simple, sculpted eye with plenty of individual lashes and a nicely emphasised mouth. A beautiful, velvety red lip paired with a neutral, subtly sparkly eye will make me feel suitably festive!!! Topped off with an amplified glow, courtesy of my Elevated Glow Highlighter.
How can you wear glitter without looking like a disco ball?
To keep things fresh and chic, let just one glitter embellishment be the focal point of your look and keep the rest pared back and minimal. For example, pair a glitter eye with a ‘my lips but better’ or nude lip colour and clean, fresh-looking skin. This will stop the rest of your makeup from looking like it’s competing with your sparkly statement.
Name the one product not to leave home without before a night on the town?
My Skin and Makeup Enhancing Mist is great to pop in your bag to refresh your makeup throughout the evening.
What’s your top makeup tip for going from office to party?
If you have an after-work party or event coming up, where you know you’ll have to turn around your perfect red lip look as quickly as possible, preparation is everything. Pack a little kit ahead of time – consisting of a compact mirror, a lip brush, a cotton wool bud, a lip balm, and of course, your favourite lipstick and matching liner. If there’s poor lighting at your desk, make sure you work out which colours will be best, way ahead of time, so you’re ready to glow.
In your opinion, which celebrities always nail the red-carpet look, when it comes to makeup?
Cate Blanchett, Lupita Nyong’o, Dua Lipa, Kate Winslet… they’re all very true to themselves. They just want to be enhanced versions of themselves, not worrying about trends.
