Body Blitz and Brunch from Bootcamp Pilates

Spice up your regular pilates class with MOTR® equipment from Bootcamp Pilates which sees you test your alignment, balance, agility, core control and functional movement patterns. The MOTR® Body Blitz class, which takes place 16th January, is an all-round body workout aimed to be challenging and diverse with a small high intensity cardio-blast incorporated into the class which is followed by a nutritious brunch in the restaurant.

Capoeira and Disco Barre classes

Keep your fitness in check over at POP Brixton with weekly Capoeira classes and a monthly Disco Barre class on the last Monday of the month. You’ll be in safe hands in the bodyweight conditioning classes of Capoeira; as the teacher, Baris, has been recognised through The Lukas Award for ‘Best Brazilian Dance Teacher of The Year’ in both 2011 and 2012. Disco Barre has blown up in recent years with models crediting it with keeping them in shape. It uses a mixture of core work, strength training, isometric holds and small but intense choreographed moves – your dreams of becoming a Victoria Secret’s model may still come true.

Private Members Club Fitness

Members club Home House offer the level of attention to detail you’d expect in such an establishment. The gym has a programme of classes for all levels of fitness including abs, HIIT, tabata and yoga available primarily for members but also for their friends so if you’re not a member, get asking around for someone who is. With class sizes this small you can forget hiding at the back – the instructors won’t allow slacking.

The Hoxton

A Whole Day of Fitness, Wellness and Food

The Hox are giving you no excuse to not succeed in January get-fit efforts. Their annual ‘Fresh and Fit Fest’ returns to The Apartment on Saturday 30th January, with each room transformed into spaces for wellness talks, yoga classes and a pop-up health food market. Nutritionist Madeleine Shaw will be on hand to offer tips, Gym Box will be hosting a Tone and Twerk class and – the best bit – Urban Massage will be giving free massages.

Outdoor Spinning

Mayfair restaurant Hush have joined up with BOOM Cycle for a series of four outside spin classes in their famous courtyard – which means fresh air for your hangover and endorphins to rid you of the winter blues. Post-spin, reward your efforts with a two course brunch; dishes include smoked salmon and eggs and Scrumshus granola with Greek yoghurt and berries and Hush’s new cold pressed juice.
