My London: London Food Babes’ Top 5 Restaurants

The London Food Babes are three friends – Nina, Lovisa and Jessica – who met at university and took to Instagram to share their passion for eating and trying out London’s restaurants. This month they also teamed up with Balham restaurant, Brother Marcus to host a series of supper clubs. We caught up with them to find out their five favourite places in London!

Duck & Waffle

What: London's Highest 24/7 Restaurant

Why: If you’re looking for the perfect place to catch the sunrise then you need to head to Duck & Waffle. Great views of London and it’s open 24/7, making it ideal for when you don’t want the night to end and want a night cap.
Make Sure You Order: You’ve got to keep it classic and order the duck and waffles. You can’t go and not order that.

Where: 110 Bishops, Aldgate, EC2N 4AY

Dirty Bones Shoreditch

What: American Comfort Food

Why: The newly opened Shoreditch branch is the perfect weekend brunch spot! With New York comfort food and great music, it’s a fun place to head to when you have no other plans on a Saturday – order a round of cocktails and start as you mean to go on. They’ve also announced that they are opening a fourth venue in Soho which we can’t wait to check out!
Make Sure You Order: We recommend the baked egg skillet or if you’re looking for something sweet then the banana Toblerone-tella waffles are amazing. Make sure to get the Dirty Mary’s to drink!

Where: 1 Club Row, Shoreditch, E1 6JX

What: Mexican in Mayfair

Why: When we’re in the mood for Mexican, you’ll find us at Mayfair restaurant, Peyote. We love it because the menu is ideal for sharing, so we grab our pals and head there for a late dinner. They also have a DJ so it’s great spot to visit at the weekend!
Make Sure You Order: The spicy Margaritas are not to be missed.

Where: 13 Cork Street, Mayfair, W1S 3NS

Sticks n Sushi Covent Garden

What: Our Go-To Sushi Restaurant

Why: This Japanese restaurant with Danish influences is our go to when we’re craving sushi! It has an extensive menu, which means you’re always going to find something you want and also we can keep going back – well, we need to try it all…
Make Sure You Order: You have to try the black cod dragon roll – it’s so good!

Where: 11 Henrietta Street, Covent Garden, WC2E 8PY

What: Hidden Gem in Shoreditch

Why: This recently opened (mainly Italian) restaurant is a real hidden gem Shoreditch. It’s small and cosy – perfect for a date, with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs cook your dishes, which will make you even more hungry.
Make Sure You Order: Try the bavette steak!

Where: Popolo Shoreditch, 26 Rivington Street, Shoreditch, EC2A 3DU
