Mollie's, Oxfordshire

Mollie’s is Oxforshire’s answer to the classic American motel-diner. And being on the edge of the Cotswolds, rather than the edge of Detroit, means it’s got exactly the sort of style you know is going to be beautiful as well as infinitely comfortable. And, as if to underscore this, the new opening is the brainchild of Soho House founder Nick Jones, giving it the stamp of approval of London’s coolest club and guaranteeing high-quality decor, food and an experience to make any roadtrip ring to cries of ‘are we nearly half-way there yet?’

Austin Motel, Texas, USA

To America, and the home of the road trip. In a vast state like Texas they know how to cover distance, but Austin Motel proves that they also really do know how to rest en-route. Based in one of the coolest cities in the US, the motel is super-stylish, with a fun ’50s vibe paired with fine dining and luxurious retro rooms.
