What To Do This Weekend: 12th – 13th March
With a week as rainy as this, it’s hard to believe that Spring is, in fact, on it’s way. Until then, weekend events are taking place firmly under a warm roof – one big warm roof, to be precise; Cocktails in the City and Affordable Art Fair, we’re looking at you. With 1,100 artists exhibiting at the Battersea art fair and 20 bars with their own ‘pop-ups’ at One Mayfair’s Cocktails in the City, it’s as good a weekend as any to embrace this limbo between winter and spring. Drury Lane’s Jar Kitchen this week celebrated its 1st birthday, Ember Yard and sister restaurant, Dehesa have finally added a breakfast/brunch menu (with free Bloody Mary’s), and if you fancy adding a bit of quirk to your weekend manicure, head to Covent Garden’s bunny spa pop-up. Jar Kitchen
PARTY: Jar Kitchen Turns 1
This week saw the 1st birthday of Jar Kitchen in Covent Garden, the all-day eatery with a farm to fork ethos – they know where everything is sourced and produce good food at good prices. We’re talking pork belly, baharat spiced baked beans, chutney, poached egg; ox cheek and cheddar croquettes with smoked onion mayonnaise and, for pudding, mini doughnuts with cinnamon sugar and salted caramel cream – as we say, they’re into good food! So if you find yourself out and about in central London or looking for somewhere before the theatre you know where to head.

7th Heaven Bunny Spa
PAMPER: London's First Bunny Spa
We’ve had the cat café, fox café, owl café and a micro-pig picnic but now London is getting its first bunny spa from beauty brand 7th Heaven. Opening up on Shelton Street, the spa will be filled with a herd of lop-eared rabbits from Greenwich Rabbit Rescue which will be hopping around as you relax with free facials, massages and free healthy snacks and drinks. If you can’t make it down, then head to head the website where you’ll be able to watch the rabbits on a live stream.

Ember Yard
BRUNCH: New brunch in an old favourite
We love adding a new restaurant to our brunch repertoire which is why we’re excited to hear that this Saturday sees the launch of brunch at Ember Yard and their sister restaurant, Dehesa. Think baked eggs with chorizo; poached pears, hazelnut crumble and yoghurt; grilled sardines on toast and charcoal grilled pancetta with fennel sausage, morcilla and chorizo ketchup. Expect to find classics like their Spanish and Italian charcuterie and cheese boards, as well as Salt Yard blend coffees, loose leaf teas and cold-pressed juices. The best bit? Anyone ordering from the brunch menu gets a free Bloody Mary, hurrah!
(Free Bloody Mary available for a month).

Battersea Evolution
SEE: Affordable Art Fair
Art is all too often associated with hefty price tags and valuers decked out in head-to-toe tweed/corduroy but if you want to spend your Saturday surrounded by art and are in the market for a contemporary painting to hang from that annoyingly bare wall, then head to Battersea Park for the Affordable Art Fair. 1,100 artists under one roof, with all art between £100 – £5,000. It starts today, with a late view this evening, and is on until Sunday. Go early to nab the best bargains.
