What To Do This Weekend: 6th – 8th May
In the second of ‘What to do this Weekend’ series compiled by a Handbook team member it’s Editor, Emily’s turn. With the temperature set to reach a rather nice 25 degrees, Emily’s weekend is going to be all about day time parties, bottomless brunches and swimming at Hampstead Heath.
Late Nights at Dirty Bones
Mutt's Nuts and Top Dogs
The weekend is here, it’s Friday and you need a drink– no questions. Dirty Bones, a favourite of mine already for their burgers and mac’n’cheese, have just launched their Late Nights evenings on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and it’s definitely worth a visit. Taking place at both their Soho and Kensington sites, cocktails, old skool funk, soul and classic hip-hop tunes are the order of the day (well, night). Order a round of the mac’n’cheese balls, get yourself a Mutt’s Nuts or Top Dog and say hello to the weekend!

Avenue's Bottomless Brunch
All the Prosecco
Sometimes brunch is the after party, the time to debrief from the night before, other times brunch is the party especially if it’s bottomless. Granted there are so many to choose from but one of my favourites has to be Avenue in St James. If lobster eggs benedict; buttermilk pancakes and berries or avocado and bacon sounds like your kind of thing then Avenue is going to be right up your street. Add in unlimited Bloody Marys or Prosecco and get your weekend off to the best start.

Missoni Art Colour
60 Years of Fashion
During the week I feel like all I do is go out to eat, drink or very occasionally drag myself to the gym, so come the weekend I’m on the scout out for a dose of culture. Which is why I’ll be heading to the Missioni Art Colour exhibition launching this Friday. It’ll be showcasing over sixty years of fashion as well as paintings by leading 20th century European artists including personal artwork of Missoni and pieces from the artists that inspired their signature graphic style. Expect to get fashion envy.

The Five Points Brewing Company Yard Party
Sun and Beer
What are you doing this Saturday afternoon? Not sure, then here’s an idea, The Five Points Brewing Co. are hosting their first monthly Yard Party. Why will we be going? Because there’s going to be Italian/American street food from Capish? Sodas from Square Root and of course, beers from The Five Points oh and it’s free, in case you hit the spending a bit too hard over the Bank Holiday.

Kenwood House
Swimming & Picnics
Come the weekend I love to escape central London and go in search of somewhere a bit more green (which isn’t one of the parks inevitably heaving with tourists). Now without wanting to jinx it or cause too much alarm, the weather forecast is currently saying highs of 24/25 degrees this weekend, which makes it ideal for visiting Hampstead Heath. Visit Kenwood House (you’ll probably recognise it from that ‘He’s just some guy from the past’ scene in Notting Hill); have a picnic on the heath or if you’re feeling really brave then head to the ponds to swim – you’ll forget you’re even in London.

Homeslice's Sunday Slice & Spritz Party
Unlimited Pizza
Sundays for me go one of two ways, either I won’t surface from under the duvet and spend the entire day chain watching Netflix or I’ll be trying to squeeze out every last drop of the weekend. And this weekend it’s definitely going to be one of the latter thanks to the guys at Homeslice who are holding their first all day Sunday Slice & Spritz Party at their Old Street site. From 12pm – 10pm you can eat unlimited pizza for £10 and Aperol Spritz are only £5 a go. So say goodbye to the Sunday Blues and make sure you have a strong coffee ready for Monday morning!
