The weekend is almost upon us…it officially starts on Thursday night. It’s good to see you again weekend!
The Jones Family Project Restaurant & Bar
Old Street (0.2 miles)
What: A Taste of the Tropics
Why: Saturday is National Piña Colada Day which means you need to drink a Piña Colada or better yet head to Jones Family Project as their summer cocktail menu includes tiki and rum drinks including the likes of the Passion for the Baron and Duck & Stormy. We have our eye on the Divine Cosmorama made from Buffalo Trace, Ardberg, coconut, crème de banane, pineapple and lime – which pretty much like drinking pure sunshine to us!
Where: 78 Great Eastern Street Shoreditch EC2A 3JL
Tannner and Co
What: Humdinger Brunch
Why: What better way to celebrate a weekend of sport than with unlimited alcohol and food? Exactly, there is no better way. Well unless of course you have Centre Court tickets..but we don’t. So what are we going to do instead? We’re going to head to Tanner and Co as they’re extending their brunch on the 10th July with a sitting at 1:30pm. You can eat the likes of cheese burgers, mushroom and spinach benedict and elderflower jelly and drink unlimited wine, beer and Prosecco all whilst watching (hopefully) Murray win Wimbledon again! If you think you’re going to be in for the long haul then they’ll be showing the final of the Euros in the evening too.

What: Tennis Whites For the Win
Why: It’s time to get the Daz and do a white wash because you’re going to need them if you’re heading to 100 Wardour Street, they’re hosting brunch on Saturday and if you don your whites and are considered the best dressed by the ‘umpires’ then you’ll get a free Wimbledon cocktail! On the menu you’ll find the likes of home smoked salmon with pea shoot and edamame flat bread; coal-fired garlic baby chicken with wilted greens and gluten free pancakes with blueberry compote, pollen and special raspberry, lychee and rose sorbet. Old Spitalfields Night Market
What: Wimbledon-themed Night Market
Why: By day, Spitalfields Market is alive with vintage clothes, then every second Friday of the month it’s alive with street food traders and music but this time around, Old Spitalfields Night Market has been struck with Wimbledon fever. Although not quite finals day, it is Gentlemen’s semi-finals day and Ladies’ finals eve so watch the games on the big screen, Pimms in hand. Hoxton Radio are in charge of the music, with Heads, Hearts and Tails shaking up cocktails, bubbles, beers and Pimms. 5.30pm-9pm.
Where: Old Spitalfields Market, 109 Commercial Street, Spitalfields, E1 6BG
What: Bastille Day Celebrations
Why: Although Thursday 14th July is actually Bastille Day, Borough Market are celebrating all things Francais this Sunday the 10th. With the amount of French cheese and wine available in the market, French ties are clear to see – throw crepes, croissants and red, white and blue macarons into the mix and you have a very French celebration. Open from 12-8pm, street theatre, live gypsy jazz and swing band and waiter’s races all sound pretty good for a free festival.
Where: 8 Southwark Street, Borough, SE1 1TL
What: Healthy Festival on Regent’s Street
Why: Last week Regent Street’s traffic-free summer weekends kicked off with a transport-themed Sunday. This weekend it’s the turn of the Health & Lifestyle event; the gun will fire to start the British 10k London Run before clearing way for fitness bootcamps, spinning and table tennis for the energetic and complimentary skin consultations from Kiehl’s, white chocolate dipped strawberries from Godiva and live cookery demos from Detox Kitchen for those seeking a bit more relaxation.
Where: Regent’s Street
What: Complimentary Pampering Whilst Watching the Tennis
Why: If you haven’t got your Wimbledon finals viewing location sorted yet, why not head to Paddington Central for a healthy take on tennis watching. Skip the clotted cream and scones and tuck into complimentary strawberries and coyo (organic coconut yogurt) with superseeds instead – you’ll feel a little less guilty that you’re sat on your bum whilst Murray is burning some serious calories. Healthy lemonade with cayenne, chilli, lemon and maple syrup will boost your metabolism and you can go one step further with a complimentary back, neck and shoulder massage or manicure from MILK Beauty therapists. Coverage starts at midday with ‘Wellbeing Wimbledon’ from 1.30pm-4.30pm.

Big Easy Bar.B.Q & Crabshack
What: Cocktail Collaboration
Why: Heading to New York would be the dream but you know costs, jet lag and sorting last minute paperwork is going to stop us from jumping on that flight this time round, so we’ll just have to make do with a taste of New York in London because Big Easy Bar.B.Q & Crabshack have teamed up with New York bar The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog for a cocktail battle. This isn’t just any NYC bar though, they currently hold second position in the World’s 50 Best Bars…impressive. With names such as Spicy Grandpa, Down & Out and Mississippi Frog there’s no way you can’t make it part of your weekend. Who needs to travel to New York anyway?
