Pssst… guess what’s only a day away, guys? THE WEEKEND!!! I know, right? Here’s a smattering of stuff to be getting up to…
More Tea, Vicar?
Britain basically runs on tea and booze. So congrats to The Cocktail Trading Company who are here just in time with a combo of the two; it’s a tea party with a difference. Launching on Saturday, The ‘Afternoon Par-Tea’ (geddit?) will take place on Sundays at CTC’s Shoreditch HQ, just off Brick Lane. Hello Cucumber Manwich, a green tea infused Bombay Sapphire Gin, cucumber and Galia melon juice, served long with Suze bitters and a solid spritz of bubbles.

Bring Your Bodies
Ditch dieting, set aside the spanx and bring your beautiful body to the Anti Diet Riot Club’s first Fat Girl Clothing Festival at the Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen. The event, with body positive influencers like Megan Jayne Crabbe (aka @Bodyposipanda), Lottie L’Amour and Love from Danica, will also feature a festival fashion market brands focused on plus size women together and embracing all rebels, especially those whose clothes are size 14 and above. Expect a clothing swap shop, cocktails, empowering talks, workshops, braiding and brow bars, alcoholic candy floss (yesssss), Orange Buffalo street food, photobooths and DJs spinning some empowering tunes.

Life On The Streets
I’ve got an app that tells you the most polluted spots in London, and generally the biggest spike of noxious gasses (beside in the Handbook office after Emily’s been on the bean salad) is the corner of Regent Street. So it’s pretty ideal that throughout July, and for the sixth consecutive year running, Sundays on Regent Street will be car free. Starting this Sunday, Summer Streets will give Londoners the chance to wander freely along this Georgian marvel while the shops will be getting in on the carnival feel with lululemon offering fitness classes, a dozen food stalls from the likes of Danish bakery Ole & Steen and Gordon Ramsay’s Heddon Street Kitchen will pop-up and Tommy Hilfiger have promised to bring along a massive Scalextric track. I’ll take that over sky-high nOx gasses.
Sunday 1st July
Get In The Market
Property developer EcoWorld Ballymore has announced the return of the Embassy Gardens Market. This Saturday New Union Square in Nine Elms will play host to the market, a collab with Shepherd’s Market, showcasing locally-sourced food and drink from some of the capital’s finest shops, accompanied by live music, a spinning challenge, a superior selection of world cuisine and plenty more.

Art Of Champagne
In this weather you have to stay hydrated, and how better than with Champagne? Throw in a bit of culture and you’ve the perfect excuse to pour Perrier-Jouët down your gullet like it’s a storm drain in rainy season. Welcome to Masterpiece. Guests at InterContinental London Park Lane can enjoy a unique experience this summer, with a welcome bottle of Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque, then the following day the butler will bring a Champagne brunch to your room before the chauffeur arrives to escort you to Masterpiece, in the grounds of The Royal Hospital Chelsea, enjoying the exquisite artefacts on show, including learning the intricacies of the art of creating Champagne, with a private talk and tasting from Perrier-Jouët Ambassador, Jonathan Simms. Finally, a bottle of Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs N.V. will be waiting back at the Champagne Perrier-Jouët terrace. Sounds like a reasonable way to spend a day…
Runs until Thursday 5th July
Where: One Hamilton Place, Park Lane, London, W1J 7QY, United Kingdom

Cycling's A Drag
Boom Cycle’s Duncan will be hosting a pride ride with DENIM, a performance troupe known for its drag shows and musical performances (they’re hilarious). DENIM are all about showing the power of being true to your identity in a time of global division, while partying hard at the same time, making their appearance at Boom Cycle Battersea for an afternoon performance as much as ‘must’ as their Q&A afterward about self acceptance and celebrating your true identity.

Last Chance Champagne Dinner
Legendary Champagne house Billecart-Salmon is celebrating its 200th birthday. What better way to wish them well than a paired à la carte menu at Theo Randall at The Intercontinental? This weekend is the last chance to enjoy the menu, which sees a range of perfectly paired Billecart-Salmon cuvées including the Cuvée Brut Sous Bois Non-Vintage, the Cuvée Nicolas François 2006 and the Brut Rosé Non-Vintage.

Happy Canada Day! Pull up a giant redwood and let’s drink some maple syrup. On Sunday Canada celebrates becoming a separate kingdom within the British Empire on its anuual day. And to mark this, Coral Room are hosting a series of Canadian themed events. Like 9am yoga with Canadian brand lululemon, a ‘retox’, with a Bloody Caesar Masterclass and a delicious brunch. Also available will be freshly baked pastries, fruit bowls, buttermilk pancakes served with Canadian bacon and maple syrup or blueberries and lemon curd, all while listening to Canadian born DJ Sam Frankl, who will be entertaining guests until 3pm (thank you Coral Room that it wasn’t Bieber).
