Your Weekend And How To Spend It: 31st August – 2nd September
Most of you are probably reading this feeling a bit down in the mouth, because last weekend was bank hols and we all know there’s not another one of those for a long, long, long (oh and did we mention long?) time. However, there are pros and cons of a bank holiday – the biggest con being how you feel on the Tuesday at your work desk, 50 coffees in and eyes redder than a sun eclipse. The pro however is three days of fun, so we’ve rounded up a tonne of things to do this weekend to prove it takes two to tango.
Sample Autumn
Autumnal Rummaging
It’s time to rid yourself of your shorts, tees, and crocs… OK, I was joking with that last one, I know no-one owns crocs anymore…right? Anyway, a change in season calls for an autumnal wardrobe – from wooly over-sized jumpers to socks warmer than it was this summer, and this is where to go. SAMPLE: Autumn is a vibrant urban market at Greenwich Peninsula, celebrating our fabulous fashion climate, alongside a bunch of things art, design, food and drink related. Brands will include Cecilia Hammarborg, Kimba, AAE, Fronté footwear byTracey Neuls, Rener and print art by East End Prints.

Brunch Festival
We Love This A-Brunch
Brunch has blown up as of late, holding hands with rushes like the gin craze and all things unicorn. Therefore, there’s little surprise that London is getting its first ever brunch festival this weekend. London’s brunch fest will have you saying goodbye to brunch FOMO, by bringing you some of London’s best menus under one roof. And, with words like Kombucha, hempseed and buckwheat flying around, turn your ignorance into enlightenment at one of the many masterclass sessions, where brand founders will be keeping you in the foodie loop. For beats whilst you eat, there will be DJ sets from Maj-ik, Ceesix, Greg Hale and Dozzer, but apologies in advance if the ‘dun-dun-dun’ is somewhat reminiscent of last nights’ drunken antics.

Hamburg On Tour
Rockin' Weekend
The best night out in the world? Apparently it’s not New York, nor Berlin, it’s not Dublin and not even London (which we find hard to believe) but it is in fact Hamburg. Yep the second largest city in Germany known for its port not its hamburgers, is said to have the best night out due to its music scene. Thanks to over 100 lively festivals hosted by Hamburg’s Metropolitan Region each year and the opening of the iconic Elbphilharmonie Hamburg concert hall, the Hanseatic City is now a thriving music capital.
So, what do you do when you’re on to something good? You let everyone know about it by going on tour, which is exactly what Hamburg is doing. Returning for a second year, Hamburg on Tour will be back in Shoreditch with its free, pop-up HAMBURG FESTIVAL; a celebration of food, art and live music.

The Cava and Poké Picnic
Popping Bottles
Freixenet has partnered with Island Poké and it’s some of the best news all year! With the first weekend of September upon us, it seems the poké-pros are determined to squeeze in one final picnic, and we’ve got no complaints. The first 120 customers to the Great Titchfield Street store will receive their Freixenet Cava for free, along with wine glasses and a luxury picnic package, upon purchasing up two or more poké bowls. Grab the blanket!

Meatopia
We Meat Again
MEATOPIA TIME! That’s right, it’s time to meat again and delve into some meaty madness all weekend long. The meatalicious festival is six years old now, so if you haven’t been at least once then are you even a meat fan?! Taking place at London’s Tobacco Dock there will be an array of up-and-coming chefs, including Jeremy Chan of Ikoyi,Neil Campbell of ROVI and Sam Bryant of Coal Rooms. There will be dishes, drink, fire (not sure why this is relevant), and music to shake your fork at. Meat you there.
