What you need to know

Launched in Manchester in 2023, the Margarita Mile has evolved into a nationwide celebration of tequila and hospitality. This year, London takes centre stage, with the main events unfolding during Mile Week (16th-22nd February), ahead of National Margarita Day (22nd February).

Use El Tequileño’s interactive map to plan your route, with 45 venues offering bespoke menus, guided tastings, and creative twists on the classic. Whether you stick to a checklist or freestyle across the capital, every stop promises a different pour.

Unmissable highlights

While the most dedicated tequila enthusiasts among us may want to take on the challenge of tackling the full line-up of bars and restaurants, we have curated a shortlist of the absolute essentials. Visit them sporadically throughout the month for those spontaneous mid-week sips, or use this as the blueprint for your next Saturday night out.

1. Innovative fusion cocktails

Begin the festivities with a bang: Shochu Lounge is hosting a margarita party on February 19th. Tucked away underneath ROKA Charlotte Street, the Japanese-inspired bar will be serving up fusion cocktails alongside a live DJ set.

Guests will also be in with a chance to win a bottle of El Tequileño Platinum, a premium 100% agave expression.

A yellow margarita in a clear glass with a honeycomb garnish sits on a wooden shelf, surrounded by large glass jars covered with paper and string. Warm lighting highlights the drink and wood grain—a perfect pick for any margarita-lover or special occasion.

As the team’s resident Texan, I’m deeply thankful for London’s margarita renaissance. Seeing my go-to trustworthy bars (hi Ellie’s) on the list, celebrating the best drink for a month is a national holiday in my book.

2. The taco-fuelled fiesta

The celebration continues out East at Corrochio’s, Dalston’s definitive destination for authentic Mexican food and drink. On February 21st, this local favourite is hosting an unmissable bash featuring a flow of irresistible tacos and tostadas.

We would recommend adding this to the top of your hit list and getting there early, as the first 50 attendees will receive a complimentary El Tequileño margarita.

3. The spot to dance & sip

Four cocktails on a white table: an orange drink with an orange slice, a tall grapefruit cocktail, a martini with olives, and a Margarita garnished with dried citrus. Perfect for any event, set against a bold, colourful background.
A colourful bar named Gold Dust features wooden tables with plants, small round tables with chairs, vibrant wall murals of boys—including one riding a horse—and is the perfect spot for any margarita-lover to enjoy their favourite drink or host an event.

Known for its experimental drink menus, this renowned Shoreditch bar and arts venue serves two exclusive new El Tequileño Blanco cocktails. Choose from the hibiscus margarita, served with triple sec, lime juice and hibiscus syrup, or if you are in favour of a drink that really packs a punch, opt for the spicy margarita, complete with jalapeño syrup and Tabasco. We recommend making Dream Bags and Jaguar Shoes the third or fourth stop on your trail, as it doubles up as a great late-night boogie spot.

Jaguar Shoes is a reliable go-to in my friend group. I love that upstairs is more chilled while the downstairs cellar sees a dance floor with live decks.

4. The cool pitstop

Nestled in the boutique 5-star Karma Sanctum hotel, this Soho bar makes for a perfect pitstop to add to your route. The team has reimagined not one but three tequila cocktails.

Beyond serving up classic margaritas, guests can also opt for a fresh new take on a bramble, complete with cassis and a cherry garnish, or a Strawberry Spiced Margarita with Cointreau, strawberry purée and a salt and chilli rim.

Where: 20 Warwick St, London W1B 5NF

5. Limited-edition creations

A bottle of Tequileno tequila and two margarita mile-worthy cocktails with salted rims are placed on the ground among tall grass and greenery, warmly lit by sunlight.
A hand holds a tray with three cocktails garnished with sugar rims, raised against a city skyline at sunset—perfect for enjoying along the margarita mile on a bright, clear evening.

From the 16th to the 22nd of February, guests are invited to enjoy The Stratford’s limited-edition margaritas in the hotel’s bar, The Lounge. Famed for taking refreshing approaches to classic drinks, the team has concocted an exciting new lineup to mark the occasion. Choose from the PPC (Pepinos Con Chile) Margarita, served with house cucumber syrup, triple sec, citrus and soda, or try out the Aqua Fresca Margarita, with ODK agave syrup, lychee blend and citrus.

6. Classics with a Nikkei twist

Chotto Matte Soho will be celebrating El Tequileño’s mile by welcoming three limited-edition margarita cocktails to its menu. In a bid to showcase vibrant Nikkei flavours and premium tequila, the three new expertly crafted drinks will be on offer throughout the month.

Expect a refreshing new take on the Classic Margarita, a fruity cactus offering with mezcal, Aperol, and prickly pear. This will be served alongside a classic margarita, as well as a spicy option.

A hand in a fluffy white sleeve holds a coupe glass with a pink cocktail and frothy top at the bar, where beer taps and drinks labels line the backdrop—capturing the vibrant spirit of the margarita mile.

7. The pub with a tequila soul

For the picante enthusiasts, Gunmakers in Farringdon has you covered. Despite being a classic London pub, this spot is renowned for its extensive collection of agave-based spirits and is considered a top destination for tequila and mezcal aficionados.

Top orders include the Picante offering and the signature Gunmakers Margarita. Plus, the menu will showcase El Tequileño Reposado with its Miles Daisy cocktail, served with honey, ginger, agave, citrus, and smoke.
