hotels for valentine's day

Nothing says romance like a night away at a luxury hotel. And with plush suites, classy cocktail bars, and mesmerising views of the capital – London’s hotels are some of the most romantic staycation spots in the world.

Whether it’s Valentine’s Day, a romantic weekend getaway, or a surprise trip just because, whisk your loved one away to these 28 London hotels for Valentine’s Day and earn some serious brownie points. (Basically, this article is one huge hint to anyone whose other half works at The Handbook… especially if that other half is me).

The Most Romantic Hotels In London

The Lost Poet

In the beating heart of Notting Hill, this luxury boutique hotel rests at one of London’s most exclusive and sought-after addresses. With the romantic, treasure-filled Portobello Road right on your doorstep, not only will your location be unique and picture-perfect, but the hotel’s interiors are really something special too. Inside, you’ll find a mix of old and new, from modern art and bold wallpapers to reclaimed wood panelling and antique trinkets that take inspiration from the market outside.

Our favourite room? The Muse. A two-level suite with its own private roof terrace, sun room and freestanding bath. Unique, romantic and full of character, it’s pure staycation goals.

Book in for their ‘Romance Package’ and receive a host of incredible experiences for your romantic getaway – like a Balcony Suite, a bottle of sparkling wine, chocolates, and preferential booking for a romantic candlelit dinner at Gillray’s Steakhouse with a view. With stunning views of the river, it’s the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city outside.

Home House

Is there anything more romantic than a staycation that transports you to another time and place? Home House is one of London’s most iconic private members’ clubs based in a beautiful historic Georgian townhouse in Marylebone that’s sure to enchant your loved one.

After making your way through their two restaurants, five bars, opulent dining rooms and health spa (or taking part in their busy events calendar – drag bingo, anyone?), head back to one of their luxurious rooms where you’ll be greeted by the likes of silk wallpaper, shimmering gold ceilings, and even the very same red marble used in the floor of the dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral (yes, the St. Paul’s!). This is the highest form of luxury, but the friendly staff and social atmosphere will make you and your loved one feel right at home.
