Christmas songs may have been blasting every day since November 1st and lights might be twinkling on the tree, but if you’re still not feeling festive, these seven Christmas podcasts are sure to get you in the spirit.

We won’t lie, it’s hard to get into the spirit of things when there’s so much uncertainty around whether Christmas is going to be cancelled for the second consecutive year. But there are a few ways you can try and feel cheery, and one of those is through popping in your headphones and listening to Christmas themed podcasts.

From the podcast that examines the biggest festive film releases to learning more about Christmas past, here’s what to listen to this week.

Bah Humbug: A Christmas Movie Podcast with Helen O’Hara

If you’re preparing to binge through all of the new Christmas film releases or rewatch your favourites this week, why not pair the viewing experience alongside a listen to Helen O’Hara’s festive podcast, Bah Humbug: A Christmas Movie Podcast.

The podcast examines the biggest new festive films, from Netflix’s cheesy, The Princes Switch 3, to Sky Movie’s A Boy Called Christmas, as well as looking back on some of O’Hara’s favourite classic movies, including Elf and The Santa Clause. O’Hara chats with actors, film experts and a series of fun guests to review just how good these films are.

The Calm Christmas Podcast with Beth Kempton

As much as we love Christmas, it’s also one of the most stressful times of the year. There’s so much pressure that we internally build up inside, in the hope that we can create a magical Christmas for all. So if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed this week, look to Beth Kempton’s The Calm Christmas Podcast for a release.

The best-selling wellbeing author has crafted two series worth of inspiring episodes, packed with soothing words from her favourite poets and writers, as well as tips for having a stress-free holiday season. For those wanting to be more sustainable this year, there are also episodes where she’ll explore ideas on how to create a more natural Christmas vibe, and look back at some of the most cherished traditions that we all know and love today.

Christmas Stories

It’s not too late to tuck into this audiobook advent calendar. Every December you’ll find Tobias Sturt reading a new Christmas tale that he and the team have written and recorded. And then every day in the lead up to the big day, they’ll release a short ten minute episode of the next chapter.

Easily digestible, now’s the time to dive into the story of The Ghosts of Christmas Presents.

Tis The Podcast

In an attempt to keep the Christmas spirit alive all 365 days of the year, Anthony, Julia and Thom created the Tis The Podcast, a space to discuss and debate everything that falls under the umbrella of Christmas.

Perfect for those who love Christmas as much as Buddy the Elf or if you have an urge to pop on Christmas music in July, Tis the Podcast sees the trio chat through everything from Christmas movies, specials and television episodes each week. And it appears there’s enough to talk about every week for the rest of time…

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, read by John Neuman

It’s debatable whether this one falls under the caliber of podcasts, but we’ll let it slide if it means we can listen to our favourite Christmas story come to life through our headset.

Relive the classic holiday novella as John Neuman reads through the story, coupled amongst music and sound effects. Split into four hour long episodes, this is easily digestible in between the last few days ‘WFH’.

Christmas Past

Ever wondered why small town romances dominate Christmas movies? Why is the Christmas Pud still the reigning dessert over the British holiday season? All of your answers about Christmas traditions are about to be answered thanks to the Christmas Past podcast.

Hosted by Brian Earl, this festive podcast delves deep into holiday traditions, history and forgotten Christmas fiction through a series of in depth chats, roundtable discussions and interviews with a whole host of festive folk. It’s a podcast where Christmas never ends.

Christmas 365 Days

What are you and your best friend’s shared interests? For Dylan Lyles and Matt Kelly, it’s Christmas! So it only felt natural for them to launch a podcast dedicated to Christmas all year round.

The pair talk about everything seasonal on their podcast, Christmas 365. Expect discussions, rants and debates about Christmas specials, movies, songs, albums and pretty much anything that vaguely relates to the happiest time of the year.
