The White Lotus Season 3 Is Finally Here

Hold your horses (and your cocktails), The White Lotus Season 3 is finally here, and it’s definitely going on our list of new TV shows to watch next year. If you’ve been waiting for another guilty pleasure after bingeing Nicole Kidman‘s The Perfect Couple this year, we know you’re going to be excited about this one.
The first season of The White Lotus that aired back in the summer of 2021 might’ve been originally planned as a limited miniseries, but it’s since snowballed into one of HBO’s most lauded and talked about shows. Season 1 was set at the fictional White Lotus resort in Hawaii, and skewered the rich and powerful as well as class divides and racial politics in America. Season 2, meanwhile, headed to Europe and was set in Sicily, again making some commentary on the lives of the rich but also being themed more around relationships, sex and betrayal. While both seasons had an overhanging mystery of unidentified dead bodies, both were really about the interactions between the various resort guests.

With creator, writer, and director Mike White at the helm, Season 3 looks to continue that trend, and once again has changed locations, now set to be taking the action to Thailand. Both previous seasons were shot partly at Four Seasons resorts, and this season is reportedly set at Four Seasons Koh Samui and Anantara Mai Khao Villas.
What is The White Lotus Season 3 about?
According to HBO, the season is set to be a “sharp social satire following the exploits of various employees and guests at an exclusive Thai resort over one highly transformative week. As darker dynamics emerge with each passing day, the series gradually reveals the complex truths of the seemingly picture-perfect travellers, cheerful hotel employees, and idyllic locale itself.” To date, The White Lotus has received 112 nominations and 43 wins, these include Critics’ Choice Television Awards, Golden Globe Awards and Emmy Awards – and the new season seems just as promising.
Onto the juicy stuff, the biggest part of a new season of The White Lotus is, of course, the cast, with names like Sydney Sweeney, Aubrey Plaza and Tom Hollander having starred in the past. Expectations have been high then for Season 3, and it looks like it’ll be just as eclectic as you’d hope. Jason Isaacs, who’s got experience with biting comedy in The Death of Stalin, and Parker Posey, beloved for her indie film work, is joining too.

Spa manager Belinda Lindsey played by Natasha Rothwell previously, will be popping up in the Thai resort and the rest of the list includes Leslie Bibb (Jupiter’s Legacy), Michelle Monaghan (Echoes), Tayme Thapthimthong (Paradox) and Dom Hetrakul (The Marine 2). Fargo and The Leftovers star Carrie Coon will also be appearing along with Walton Goggins (Fallout), Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education), . When does season 3 release?
In the UK, season 3 releases today [17th February] on Sky, after releasing on HBO in the US on the 16th. No binge-watching, though, with the eight episodes released weekly.
