Why ‘Skin Glazing’ Is The Next Big Trend In Skincare?

2nd August 2022 | By Tamara Corin

No matter what your age or skin type, we’re all striving for a dewy and glowy complexion, every time. We’re unconsciously programmed in to thinking that if our skin shines, we look healthy and youthful. So, it comes to no surprise, when Hailey Bieber recently posted a carousel of images of her no-filter head-to-toe glow, her 41 million Instagram followers wanted to know how to get the same seamless sugar-coated glaze inspired by a donut (yes, you read that correctly!)

It’s not often in the world of beauty, we try and resemble our favourite Krispy Kreme, that is, until now. With Bieber’s forthcoming beauty line, Rhode, expected to drop this year, perhaps this is a teaser of what’s in store? However, #glassskin already has over 643,000 posts sitting under the hashtag. Ultra-glowy skin is no longer dedicated to the summer months, but instead a year-round desire for “wet” looking skin. Whether achieved by skincare alone or with the help of some extra-brightening makeup, skin-glazing is predicated to be a huge fad for 2022.

Get on board with these luminous products that will give you a superstar glow….

Ultra-glowy skin is no longer dedicated to the summer months, but instead a year-round desire for “wet” looking skin.

By Sarah London Reviver Hydrating Face Mist, £30

Why we love it: A hydrating face mist is undoubtedly the easiest and quickest way to create a dewy finish that can veer on the wet side if that’s the look you’re after. Whether you have a full-face of makeup or going bare, a few spritz’s of this will refresh your complexion like you’ve been caught in the rain (minus your brolly!) while also saving your skin from the 3pm slump.

Beauty Bio Gloss & Glow Megawatt Glow Pro Facial, £65

Why we love it: Essentially a facial in a bottle. The two-step system (dermabrasion exfoliation followed by flooding your skin with nutrients) can be used two/three times a week to reset your skin and give you an incredible glass-like glow.

Saie Beauty Glowy Super Gel, £22

Why We Love It: If you want to go all-out on the skin glaze trend, pop this in your basket now! This non-sticky light gel is a primer-highlighter hybrid that can either be applied to bare skin or mixed in with your base for extra luminosity that gives skin an unbeatable gleam.

Fenty Skin Pre-Show Glow, £35

Why we love it: This will literally change your glow game FOREVER! Expect radiant and make up ready skin in just one minute, by brightening, smoothing, and refining the look of pores, reducing dark spots and lifting dead skin cells to give you the ultimate glow.

Glow Hub Intro to Acids set, £24

Why we love it: Expect your skin to be the best EVER. This is a great introduction to acids and takes out all the fear associated with ‘acid burn’. Target your skin everyday with these mini bottles and you’ll be left with an uber-shiny canvas that’s even and hydrated and ready to be layered up with even more glow-getting products.

Trinny London Better Off AHA/PHA Gel Cleanser, £28

Why we love it: Following on from the HUGE success of Trinny London makeup, Trinny has finally launched into skincare and it’s as fab! Focusing on one skincare category at a time, this standout cleanser has exfoliating properties that reveal fresher skin and leave it in tip-top condition, ready to layer up with more products and add even more glaze to your look.

MAC Strobe Cream, £26

Why we love it: It’s an oldie but still a goodie. This now comes in five shades (pink is the original hue) Think of this as a highlighter for grown-ups which also feeds your skin with a mega-dose of vitamins and green tea, that adds to the radiant glow. Slick onto bare legs, arms and decolletage.

Susanne Kaufmann Glow Mask, £59

Why we love it: Lacklustre skin will get a mega wakeup call as soon as you apply this, thanks to the stimulating ginger and coffee extracts. The mask effortlessly preps skin for makeup by giving it a head start with its super-dewy finish. A shortcut to brighter and rested-looking skin.

Iconic Illuminator- original, £32

Why we love it: If your skincare isn’t cutting it, this will easily fake a glow. This illuminator was being passed around like gold dust by makeup artists backstage at the recent Brit Awards. The beauty of this is you can control and customise how much glow you want- even mix it in with your moisturiser or body lotion. A great choice for limbs.

Augustinus Bader Serum, £280

Why we love it: When you see the benefits of AB beauty products, you. quickly forget that you’ve parted with an arm and a leg! Price tag aside, this serum gives skin a luminous glow like you’re standing under a ring light. Truly noticeable with or without makeup. If you’re on the hunt for eternal glow, this is a great starting point.

Huda Beauty GloWISH Multidew Skin Tint £32

Why we love it:  Soooo many reasons this earns a place on our hit list.  It’s super blendable and will honestly give you second-skin vibes; it’s perfect to use every day and we love the fuss-free application! It’s available in 13 shades and the dew-boosting formula looks seamless on absolutely everyone. Need we say more?

REN Clean Skincare Glow & Protect Serum £50

Why we love it: This powerhouse serum not only gives you all the skin benefits that you expect from a serum (evens out skin tone, strengthens skin barrier, protects from free radicals), but also a warm lightbulb-type glow, thanks to the infusion of three types of Vitamin C. REN never ever disappoints!
