Mother’s Day falls in Sunday 27th March this year, which means we’re on the final countdown to find somewhere in London’s that’s suitable to take dear ol’ Mum to and isn’t fully booked already.

Native at Browns

Every ounce of Native at Browns is beautiful. Brought to life by Ivan Tisdall-Downes and Imogen Davis, Native is a powerhouse restaurant that champions sustainable cooking, foraging and natural ingredients.

Expect seasonal produce and ethical dining displayed through a menu of small plates, natural wines and foraged cocktails. The space in itself is sustainable too, created by London-based architecture and design studio Red Deer, celebrating craftsmanship through its furniture to its flower displays.

Hélène Darroze at The Connaught

Looking to score serious brownie points? Spoil the special lady with a Michelin star dinner at Hélène Darroze at The Connaught. Home to three Michelin stars, the restaurant champions seasonal produce. Hélène works with and chooses farmers and makers that are close to the restaurant’s ethos. 

The interiors alone are worth soaking up, complete with wooden paneling, pink tones and artwork from Damien Hirst.

Harvey Nichols

Make it a meal to remember and book in for a special Mother’s Day package at Harvey Nichols. Let Mum relax with a Sisley Black Rose Facial before heading to their Fifth Floor Café for a three course meal and cocktails. 

Their Mother’s Day meal includes a special menu featuring the likes of beetroot cured trout, celeriac remoulade and sourdough; salmon with golden chowder, potatoes and shellfish; and a milk chocolate and coffee bean tart with chocolate tuile. Spend the day with Mum at Somerset House exploring the Temporary Compositions exhibition, before heading to Spring, the beautiful restaurant from culinary whizz, Skye Gyngell.

Petersham Nurseries

Make Mother’s Day extra special with a visit to Petersham Nurseries. Hidden inside both their Covent Garden and Richmond branches, you’ll find them serving up an afternoon tea that celebrates the best seasonal ingredients. 

Set to a backdrop of florals and greenery, the afternoon tea will include a bellini; Scottish girolle arancini; smoked trout blinis; clotted cream topped scones; and plenty of desserts to go around.

Wild By Tart

From facials and manicures to shopping at boutique stores, Eccleston Yards is the perfect place to while away an afternoon. Our foodie stop of choice? Wild by Tart, the restaurant from Jemima Jones and Lucy Carr-Ellison. 

With sustainability and a seasonal approach at the forefront, the restaurant specialises in charcoal grills and wood oven dishes. Tuck into sharing plates of cured trout, ponzu, fennel and sesame; aubergine with cashew satay, pickled chilli and crispy shallots; bone-in sirloin with chimichurri. Paired alongside one of their quince bellinis, this is a recipe for success.

Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill

Serving up fish and chips for over 100 years, Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill is the place to go for a night of seafood dining. This Mother’s Day, they’ve created a menu abrim with beautiful dishes that Mum’s guaranteed to enjoy. 

Enjoy a starter of scallop and gurnard ceviche with lime, mint and jalapeno, or go for the rooftop smoked salmon, ravigote cream and keta caviar before making your way through their classic fish pie made with haddock, prawn and salmon. Upstairs at Trinity

Michelin starred chef, Adam Byatt and his team at Upstairs at Trinity have curated a beautiful menu designed with Mum in mind. Expect a starter championing English asparagus, served with warm semi smoked salmon and a soft pheasant egg; herb crusted rack of lamb with boulangere potatoes, purple sprouting broccoli and anchovy dressing; and whole 10oz grilled dover sole with seaweed butter, fennel, radish and orange salad with buttered jersey royals.

Choose from two or three courses, served with a glass of Searcys Selected Cuvée Rosé Champagne and delight in a menu of roast sirloin of beef with Yorkshire pudding and ale gravy; grilled sea bass fillet with lemon and hollandaise sauce; or a wild mushroom wellington with tomato and basil passata. It might not be Mum’s but this is a roast worth trying.

You’ll also get the opportunity to create a beautiful hand-tied bouquet to gift to your mum with a special flower arranging workshop between 1pm – 2pm on Sunday 27 March. Christina from Tubes Floral will be hosting the one-hour workshop, from an introduction into flower care and an expert tutorial to completing your arrangement.

Searcys at the Gherkin

Take a trip to the clouds and back and dine at the top of one of London’s most iconic skyscrapers. Searcys at the Gherkin have created a beautiful Mother’s Day package, complete with a selection of canapés and Moët & Chandon bubbles on arrival, followed by a delicious three-course meal. Menu highlights include hot smoked salmon tortellini topped with lemon and chive beurre blanc; pan-fried cod fillet with Hispi cabbage, pancetta lardons and English pea velouté; and a decadent apple and plum crumble, served with cinnamon ice cream.

Make this Mother’s Day weekend one to remember as contemporary steakhouse Bar + Block launches a special three-course meal to celebrate all mums, alongside its signature roasts with all the trimmings.

Expect British classics from chargrilled salmon served with sautéed potatoes, broccoli and samphire tossed in garlic butter, or let Mum go all out with a Bar + Block’s signature steak, which are matured for 30 days and hand-cut to order.

Make a day of it with a trip to Sky Garden, London’s highest public garden that boasts some of the best views over the capital. Once you’ve finished exploring the colourful display, spoil Mum even more with a visit to their on-site restaurant Fenchurch. 

Dine in the clouds and delight on head chef Michael Carr’s five-course tasting menu. It features dishes such as roast spiced Norfolk quail with squash and nasturtium drizzled with a teriyaki glaze; seasonal tomatoes and smoked ricotta with linseed and hot mustard dressing; Aynehoe Park venison with quince, black pudding, crapaudine beetroot and peppercorn sauce. 

Finish on a sweet note with the famed Fenchurch chocolate bar with salted almond ice cream or enjoy a selection of the finest British cheeses.



Tapas Brindisa

Set on the banks of the River Thames, Tapas Brindisa Battersea is the perfect restaurant to take mum to this Mothering Sunday. Crafted from the finest ingredients from all across Spain and its islands, the restaurant specialises in tapas, abrim with meats, cheeses and fish. 

Head down and share plates of Iberain ham croquettes; marinated free-range chicken thighs with spicy mojo roko and hazelnut picada; and king prawns with chilli, garlic and olive oil. There’ll even have a special Mother’s Day cocktail to wash it all down.

Take Mum somewhere different this year and book in for a night of cabaret, dining and British pop. 

London Cabaret Show’s latest show celebrates the best of British pop, from the 60s through to the present day. You and your mum could be dancing to The Kinks, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, before seeing the punk movement of the 80s illuminated through costume, circus acts and choreographed dancing.
