Summer really is the best time to host a birthday party. London rooftops are open, longer evenings and better moods are here – what’s not to celebrate? As for where to host it, there are so many options, it can be tough to nail down a concrete plan. Thankfully, we’ve assembled a list of rooftop bars, immersive shows, unique experiences and great food for you to choose from.

Sea Containers

Best for: Riverside views

Anywhere with a backdrop of the Thames is a winner in our books. Combine that with some of the world’s best Champagnes and cocktails on offer and brightly coloured interiors and you’ve got yourself the best party venue in the house (well, city). 12th Knot at Sea Containers does just so. To top it off, they’ve got an outside terrace too so you can really soak up the best of the city’s views.

Rooftop Film Club

Best for: Classics with a view

During the summer, no rooftop is safe in London from being turned into some variation of leisure activity. The Rooftop Cinema Club in Peckham is one of our favourites, however, and solves one of the great summer conundrums: not wanting to waste a sunny day in a dark room, but still wanting to go to the movies.

From old classics like American Psycho and Pretty Women to new hits like Anora, this is the best place to watch a film, and also makes for a great birthday party celebration.

Eataly

Best for: Aperol lovers

The White Lotus might be over, but that doesn’t mean it will stop being our main source of inspiration for all things summer. Specifically, that means Aperol Spritz.

Get a group together and head to Eataly’s Aperol Spritzeria Terrazza – which does what it says on the portable Aperol-dispensing truck. To soak all that Aperol up, your group can also tuck into an alfresco menu full of sharable antipasti delights, freshly made pasta, thick-crust pizza alla pala, and fresh salads.
