Shopping better and less is the style rule we should all be living by in a bid to reduce the impact fashion has on the planet. Thankfully, there are plenty of brands out there with sustainability at their core. From the new Brit brand making pieces from recycled rose petals to the affordable brand making 90% of its collection from certified sustainable materials.

Nobody’s Child
Eco-conscious and affordable don’t usually fall in the same bracket, but Nobody’s Child are ripping up the rulebook when it comes to sustainable fashion. Sure, buying less is the best way to shop responsibly, and we’re not saying buy more because it’s cheaper, but affordable price points are few and far between when it comes to conscious collections.
Nobody’s Child are changing that, promising to use conscious fabrics that have been sourced and manufactured responsibly; promising to diminish waste by recycling and repurposing fabric; guaranteeing recyclable packaging throughout; and promising to be transparent about it all. In fact, an incredible 90% of the collection is made from certified sustainable materials.
In terms of aesthetic, think Rixo meets Ghost with an array of ditsy print tea dresses, twee knits and a rainbow colour palette.
Blue Anemone
Blue Anemone are the kind of brand that make you long for summer days thanks to their faded vintage-look prints, breezy linens and billowing cotton shapes.
In terms of sustainability, the business is run off a pre-order basis to ensure there is never any left over stock. They also only use natural fabrics and fibers like cotton, linen, hemp and wool and everything is made within 100 kms from their studio.

Calla Lily
Founded by two London girls with a passion for Mother Earth but also beautiful clothes, say hello to Calla Lily. The collection of fluid silk pieces, muted tones and pretty details like tie-waists and covered buttons (just look at those sleeves!) are made using recycled rose petal fabric, viscose taken from sustainable forests and organic dye.
In fact, the rose petal silk causes no harm to the environment as the biodegradable fabric is made using waste petals that are broken down and spun into fibres. It’s also super soft – kind on your skin and to the planet. Win win.

Maison M
Here’s a brand that brings together more than just fashion. Maison M, founded by two friends Mooi and Margherita, have curated and created a store showcasing everything from the most charming quilted bags to handknitted jumpers, vintage finds to stunning ceramics.
Everything they make is handmade with love, which means it takes time, and thus, the collections remain small and limited. We’ve fallen hard for their quilted bags – most of which are now sold out so keep an eye out for newness, as well as their balloon-sleeve knits in the prettiest of pastel hues.
Grace Wears
What started as a personal hunt for the perfect pair of palazzo pants has grown into a fully fledged label with a waiting list for their signature coat. Grace Wears, founded by Grace Hudson-Evans now serve up the most gorgeous dresses, bags, coats and shirts, crafted in carefully sourced fabrics.
Colour and fun play a big part in the collections, from the feather-trimmed pyjama sets to the Glitter Daughter Dress which is just waiting to be worn to all your summer soirees.
