Netflix is proving itself the best streaming service to find comedy movies this year, with Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher’s Your Place Or MineMurder Mystery 2 and the upcoming Happiness For Beginners. A Tourist’s Guide to Love, releasing on 21st April, is the latest addition to that growing roster, and centres around a newly single woman going on a journey of self-discovery in Vietnam, as she falls in love with her tour guide.

Here’s everything we know about A Tourist’s Guide To Love

The film stars Rachel Leigh Cook (She’s All That) as Amanda, a travel industry professional who’s just recently come out of a long-term romantic relationship and now feels anchorless and upset at her newly single status. Determined to start making the most of things, she accepts an assignment from work to go undercover in a sneaky mission to delve into Vietnam’s tourist industry and gain new insight from it. Coincidentally, her arrival in the country coincides with Tet, the Vietnamese celebration of the Lunar New Year, which means spring is on the way- and Amanda decides to embrace the feelings of renewal by taking a voyage of self-discovery.

During her stay, she meets Sinh (Scott Ly), a Vietnamese expatriate and her tour guide during her stay, and the two strike up a friendship that soon blossoms into falling in love. Sinh is free-spirited and passionate about finding the adventures that life can offer, and Amanda is drawn in to discover the simple things herself. How best to experience all life can offer? By hijacking (in a good way) a tour bus to travel to Vietnam and find love and themselves in the process.

A Tourist’s Guide to Love’s trailer gives exact kind of sneak pea of the comedy that you’d expect: Amanda is dumped by her partner despite thinking she’d marry him, jets off to Vietnam in defiance, and very quickly becomes smitten with her guide. Oh, and her ex-boyfriend (played by Mad Men’s Ben Feldman) makes a surprise reappearance, much to Amanda’s shock.

Things turn into a complicated love triangle, as Amanda is torn by her newfound love for Sinh and her feelings for her ex. A Tourist’s Guide To Love also stars Missi Pyle (Gone Girl), Nondumiso Tembe (True Blood) and Andrew Barth Feldman (High School Musical: The Series). You can discover exactly who Amanda ends up choosing when it drops on Netflix.
