Bring out your corsets and ready your carriages, it’s time to let the Regency era back into your living room because Bridgerton Season 3 is finally here.
As per the last trailer released by Shondaland, Season 3 puts the spotlight on Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton‘s increasingly complicated relationship.
Adequately equipped with drama, suspense and sexual tension, Bridgerton Season 3 looks like it’s set to answer all our questions: How long will the war between Penelope and Eloise last? How did Colin really get so “sturdy”? Will Penelope and Colin be “just friends”? (Judging from those lingering gazes in the trailer, we think not).
What’s new in Bridgerton Season 3?
The season will see the relationship between Penelope and Colin develop. The trailer gave us a glimpse of Colin back from his travels, looking *ahem* “sturdy”, as his brother comments. We see Penelope and Colin agreeing to be friends and the heartbreaking battle between best friends-turned-enemies Penelope and Eloise continuing. Season 2 star Simone Ashley who played Kate Sharma, is also back for the season alongside the eldest Bridgerton brother, Anthony (played by Jonathan Bailey), and the two are still very much in love. (Phew).
One thing we know for sure is that Penelope is on a mission. A mission to “take a husband.” And while she seems to have no dearth of suiters, we wonder, will friendship lead to love in Season 3? And are we ready to see Bridgerton’s stealthy wallflower finally…bloom? It’s all in Lady Whistledown’s hands now.
Who are the new cast members?
It was announced in May 2022 that Hannah Dodd (Anatomy of a Fall) would be replacing Ruby Stokes as Francesca Bridgerton. More recently, we’ve been introduced to new faces including Daniel Francis (Stay Close) who will play Marcus Anderson, a new figure in the ton; James Phoon who plays Harry Dankworth and Sam Phillips (The Crown) who appears as Lord Debling, a prospective suitor for Penelope.
When can we watch Season 3?
Part 1 is slated to reach Netflix today and Part 2 arrives on 13th June.
