25 Pencil Skirts To Elevate Your Style
Spotted on the runways at Saint Laurent, Bally and Dries Van Noten, pencil skirts have made their stylish comeback, marking a chic and delicious return to ladylike dressing.
Over the past few seasons we’ve seen maxi skirts, lace skirts and slip skirts dominate the trends. However, things are about to get very slick with the return of the pencil skirt. It notably walked the AW24 catwalks and we instantly fell for this wonderful piece of female power dressing. Cut to perfection, it glides over the hips and creates the most incredible silhouette. When paired with a tailored jacket, the result is refined, elegant and yes, powerful. Ladylike glamour is back.

While there’s no denying the sophistication of this timeless number, it can also be more relaxed, specifically when worn with a soft knit or even a tee. Alternatively, with the party season fast approaching, pencil skirts can also look incredibly sexy. Look out for red versions for a festive feel – I’m totally obsessed with the scarlet & Other Stories bow skirt. Or, of course, there are the leather and faux leather iterations which are the epitome of cool. Pair with a lace trim cami, sling on a blazer and slip on some kitten heels and you’re ready to go – looking both sleek and contemporary.
I’m a big fan of the high street and, as ever, when it comes to this trend Zara, H&M and Mango don’t disappoint. Then there are the stores renowned for their tailoring and suiting, namely Hobbs, Reiss and Me + Em. Plus, the best news about this so-called trend, is that it isn’t going anywhere fast. So the cost per wear factor is second to none. Are you ready to unleash your feminine wiles in one of this season’s must-have skirts?
