Spotted on the runways at Miu Miu, Victoria Beckham and Givenchy, the pencil skirt has made a stylish comeback, marking a chic and delicious return to polished, yet striking dressing.

Over the past couple seasons, we’ve seen all manner of skirts dominate the trends. However, this season marks the very slick return of the pencil skirt. It notably walked the AW26 catwalks, and we instantly fell for this wonderful piece of female power dressing. Cut to perfection, it glides over the hips, creating the most incredible silhouette. When paired with a tailored jacket, the result is refined, elegant and yes, powerful. Ladylike glamour is back.

While there’s no denying the sophistication of this timeless number, it can also be worn more casually, especially with a soft knit or even a tee. Alternatively, with the party season fast approaching, pencil skirts can also look incredibly sexy. Look out for leather and faux leather iterations, which are the epitome of cool. Pair with a lace-trimmed cami, sling on a blazer, and slip on some killer heels, and you’re ready to go, looking both sleek and contemporary.
