The internet loves an outfit theory. From the ‘wrong shoe‘ narrative to the ‘pop of red‘ hypothesis, there’s something alluring about the idea of being able to turn creating cool outfits into a repeatable science. Now, one stylist has just shared her fail-safe formula for a cool outfit, every time.

The formula

Personal stylist, Fee Zeelenberg (@fee.fits), has gone viral after sharing her simple outfit formula for cool outfits. The reel in question has over 25k likes, and almost 2k comments.

So what’s the secret? According to Fee, all cool outfits have these three qualities or ‘forces’ at play:

1. Class

2. Edge

3. Ease

After looking at how she breaks down a range of Pinterest-worthy, and stylish A-list looks, we have to admit, we think she’s really onto something. Scroll on to find out more about each component, in Fee’s own words.

The balance of these 3 is personal, and completely up to you

1. Class

“Class is what makes an outfit feel polished, timeless, and put together,” explains Fee. Think: cat-eye sunglasses, a blazer, a silk scarf, an oversized shirt, ballerina flats.

2. Edge

“Edge is the most difficult of the three… it’s what gives your outfit tension – the modern, quirky and unexpected.” For example, a modern shape bag, or hat, balloon pants, or a top with an asymmetrical hem.

3. Ease

Ease is “relaxed, effortless, lived-in. It keeps things from looking too ‘overdone'”. Think: A big T-shirt, relaxed fits, baggy trousers, jorts, a baseball cap.
