The ultimate Summer Shuffle Showdown

While Global Shuffle Day is set to take place on July 25th, this is really just the opening whistle. From the 26th right through to 31st August, Electric Shuffle is running its Summer Shuffle Showdown, giving every group who books a game of shuffleboard another shot at glory throughout the summer.

Score 111 or above on The Edge during that window and you’re inducted into the Triple One Club, earning a spot in the venue’s Hall of Fame, photo and all, as permanent proof of your skills on the wall.

Each week of the Showdown unlocks a fresh prize for Triple One Club members, ranging from a free round of drinks for the group to brunch for six people, right up to the one everyone’s actually gunning for: a Pucky plushie, Electric Shuffle’s much-loved cuddly mascot. It’s the kind of running competition designed to give people a reason to come back more than once over the summer, rather than treating Global Shuffle Day as a one-off.

Electric Shuffle is a great addition to the activity bar scene. There’s nothing better than getting a bit competitive over a couple of margs, plus a break on the terrace is a must!

Prizes up for grabs

You don’t need a booking to take part on July 25th, though reserving a table does guarantee you’re among the first through the door to try both new games. Every Electric Shuffle venue is keeping a shuffleboard table free all day specifically for walk-ins, so anyone can wander in, have a go, and find out what they’re made of.

There’s real incentive to play well too: different score levels unlock instant prizes on the spot, from branded merch to free drinks. Hit the ultimate score of 120, and you win the big one: a stack of Electric Shuffle goodies plus a free night out for you and your mates, bar tab included, redeemable on a future date. And because Studio 21’s magic number is 21, every venue is running 2-for-1 Margaritas all day long, a fitting way to toast the occasion whether you’re playing or just watching.

I’m always looking for alternative evening activities in the city, and this is the perfect billing. Go for the shuffleboard, stay for the 2-for-1 Margaritas!

Discover two brand new games

Electric Shuffle hasn’t released a new game in a while, so launching two new ones in a single day is nothing short of a big deal. Both were designed and developed in-house, then road-tested by the brand’s most loyal guests, so you know it has seasoned players’ stamp of approval.

Studio 21 borrows its logic from blackjack. Score exactly 21 in as few turns as possible, and if you go over, you’re sent back to your previous score.

The Edge is a different kind of challenge altogether, one built on nerve and precision rather than power. Players throw four consecutive pucks, with only the furthest one counting toward their score, across two rounds, and the highest total wins. Throw too far, though, and the puck slides off the edge, taking your points with it, so the real skill lies in knowing exactly how far is far enough.

Both games launch worldwide on 25th July, landing in every Electric Shuffle venue including all five UK locations: King’s Cross, Canary Wharf, London Bridge, Leeds and Manchester.

Book your spot

Shuffleboard doesn’t get the credit it deserves. It’s the kind of game people write off before they’ve even picked up a puck, and that’s exactly what Electric Shuffle is on a mission to change. Play it properly, and you’ll find a single bad throw can undo three good ones, a well-placed puck can get knocked clean off the board on the next turn, and there’s a real hush that falls over the table on the final throw of a close game. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a total novice who’s never so much as touched a puck, this summer marks the perfect time to get involved and see what all the fuss is about.

Bookings for Global Shuffle Day and the Summer Shuffle Showdown are open now across all Electric Shuffle venues, with walk-ins welcome on the day itself.
