After a hectic week, especially with the children all now on their Easter break (how has it come around so quickly?), I found myself craving some much-needed peace and quiet. When I was invited to experience Hotel Café Royal’s Spa package, I couldn’t say ‘yes’ quickly enough. Tucked away in the heart of London, this iconic hotel offers the perfect mix of five-star luxury and a rejuvenating spa experience that left me feeling completely refreshed and restored.

Nestled right in the heart of London, Hotel Café Royal felt like my personal retreat from the chaos of the city. The moment I stepped inside, I was transported into a world of calm and elegance. It’s like you leave the bustling streets behind and enter a sanctuary that wraps you in warmth and sophistication. The interiors are absolutely beautiful—tasteful, modern, yet timeless—and they create such a serene atmosphere. I could feel the energy of the city outside, but here, it felt like I was in a peaceful oasis. It was the kind of place where every detail, from the soft lighting to the luxurious decor, made you feel relaxed and at home, even in the middle of London.
You’re close to everything—whether it’s shopping on Regent Street, taking in a West End show, or simply strolling through nearby parks. It’s an escape that feels like it’s in the center of it all, but still offers peace and quiet when you need it.
The Deluxe Room
Upon arrival, on a very hot day, I was greeted with a glass of champagne—a great touch that set the tone for the entire stay. The Deluxe Room was the epitome of comfort and luxury, with every detail thoughtfully considered to create the perfect sanctuary. The room was spacious, with a soothing, neutral palette that felt both calming and indulgent. The king-sized bed, dressed in the softest linens, promised a restful sleep, and the bathroom, featuring a large marble bathtub and walk-in shower, felt like a private spa in itself.
The highlight was the stunning view of the city, which made sipping my champagne from the comfort of the room feel extra special. It was a space where I could truly unwind, the perfect start to my stay at Hotel Café Royal.
Akasha Spa
As part of the Spa Dreams package, I had access to the hotel’s world-class Akasha Spa. This is where the magic truly happened. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with an atmosphere of tranquillity, the serene ambience enhanced by the soft glow of ambient lighting and the soothing scent of essential oils. The spa offers a wide range of treatments, but I was particularly excited about my full-body massage.
My massage was nothing short of incredible. Gloria, my therapist, was a true professional, ensuring every knot and tension in my body was expertly worked out. The pressure was perfect, and the experience was so relaxing that I felt like I was floating on air. By the time the treatment ended, I felt completely rejuvenated, with my body and mind at peace.
The spa also offers a stunning pool, sauna, and steam room, all of which I had access to during my stay. After my treatment, I spent time unwinding in the relaxation areas, enjoying the serene atmosphere before returning to my room.
Gloria applied the perfect amount of pressure during my massage—just the right balance of relaxation and relief. I left feeling completely rejuvenated, like every ounce of stress had melted away.
Dining experience
Hotel Café Royal is home to several fine dining experiences. The restaurant at Hotel Café Royal is renowned for its decadent atmosphere and impeccable cuisine, having hosted a long list of high-profile guests, including the likes of David Beckham, Lady Gaga, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kate Moss. It’s a place where A-listers have dined, celebrated, and partied in true style, making every meal here feel like an event.
I began with the fresh crab as a starter. The delicate sweetness of the crab was perfectly complemented by light, tangy accompaniments that elevated the dish. But the real highlight of the evening was the calves liver—second to none in its tenderness and flavour. Every bite was cooked to perfection, with a rich profile that left me savouring it until the last morsel.
The hotel also has its fair share of fun and vibrant moments. Our waiter told us the wildest story about the BAFTA after-party at the restaurant—apparently, Rihanna was there, and in a moment of pure joy, she threw her wine at the ceiling! The party was off the charts, and they actually left the stain there as a fun memory of the night. It’s those kinds of unforgettable moments that make this place so special.

For those seeking even more indulgence, the Spa Dreams package offers premium perks, including access to chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce or Mercedes-Benz for Signature Suite bookings. For the ultimate experience, guests can also opt for a self-drive supercar. We didn’t need to make use of these touches, however I can imagine they would elevate the entire stay even further.
