What: London's Biggest Burger
Why: Think you’re a big burger fan? How about 2kg of beef big? Phew! Oh and we almost forgot the chips. Tackle the beast with a group of mates or, if you’re feeling cocky, polish it off in under 30 minutes with a friend and you’ll get it for free with a t-shirt to prove it. Let’s hope it’s an XL. Must be ordered 24 hours in advance and takes an hour to cook so don’t arrive too hungry. Download your voucher online for 20% off.

Burger-inspired desserts, burger piñatas and a pickle eating contest round off the madness. Tickets have sold out but sign up for the waiting list to try your luck. 4pm-midnight.

Don’t mess about, the calzone burger is only around until Friday (26th August) in the Canary Wharf restaurant only.

Bleecker Street Burger
What: New York-esque Burger
Why: Bleecker Street is pretty much the king of burger porn. Their layered patties oozing with melted cheese are a regular feature on hunger-inducing Instagram accounts and this is why: perfectly pink meat is layered up with a secret sauce and sandwiched between a toasted sesame bun. Look out for their roving vans or in the slightly more permanent home at Spitalfields market. Thursday will see 20% off burgers all day long, just download a voucher from their website.

The best bit? Until Sunday, Le Confit is available for just £8.

K West have created a burger with a difference for National Burger Day and it is Absolutely Crabulous (that’s actually the name). The soft shell crab burger comes with cheddar cheese, grainy mustard, chilli mayo, baby gem lettuce and pickles and a squidgy brioche bun to let the crab do the talking. Mews of Mayfair
Bond Street (0.3 miles)
What: Add in the Lobster
Why: Mews of Mayfair’s burger is a classic. Rare beef from Maren Meats is cooked in a wood fired josper oven, the brioche bun comes from the guys at Artisan Bakery in West London and it’s finished with a secret recipe burger sauce. Of course you can add extras like smoked bacon and mature cheddar cheese, or you can go for the delux option and get it topped with lobster. Given it’s National Burger Day, we suggest you do that.
Where: 10 Lancashire Court New Bond Street W1S 1EY
Dip & Flip
What: Burgers and Gravy
Why: True burger fans will have already ventured to Dip & Flip in Battersea, Brixton, Tooting or Wimbledon – it was they who had the genius idea of serving burgers with a pot of gravy to take the meaning of ‘messy’ to a whole new level. If you’re not convinced just trust us, it works – it’s for good reason they are regularly considered one of London’s top burger joints.
Where: 64 - 68 Atlantic Road, Brixton, SW9 8PY
What: Proper American Burgers
Why: Sometimes only the filthiest of burgers will do. Enter The Diner, who are offering diners 20% off all food on Thursday – we’re talking waffles, hot dogs, wings – but you’d be a fool to skip the burger menu. Speyside Highland beef make up all the meaty patties, we like the look of the Arch burger; beef patty topped with St. Louis pulled pork, Monterey Jack cheese, coleslaw and dill pickle in a sesame bun. We need a rest even just thinking about it.
