From National Lost Sock Memorial Day to Toothache Day, there are some pretty pointless ‘Days’ out there, most of which are probably made up by some marketing genius. Tomorrow (Wednesday 5th February) is World Nutella Day – finally a day we can get on board with. Whoever came up with that one, we salute you.
In honour of the poignant day, we’ve searched high and low to bring you London’s best dishes featuring the chocolatey, hazelnutty spread. Prepare to go nuts…
The Nutella Pizza Ring
Those nutty for the hazelnut spread need to make the pilgrimage to this pizza joint for the Nutella Pizza Ring.
Pizza Pilgrims use their signature Neapolitan dough and fill it to the brim with Nutella and salted ricotta, bake it in the oven until it’s oozing with chocolatey goodness and top it off with a creamy ball of ice cream.
Nutella Topped Ice Cream
For sweet treats that probably come with a three-day calorie intake (who cares?) head to Jefferson’s, where you’ll find some of the best homemade ice cream in the capital.
We recommend going for either pancakes, waffles or crepes for your base and adding a topping of ice cream, Nutella, chocolate sand and whipped cream. Ooph!
The Espresso Nutellini
To honour World Nutella Day, Notting Hill’s Little Yellow Door have created the perfect marriage of hazelnutty goodness, rocket fuel coffee and heady booze. The Espresso Nutellini is mixed up by their bartenders using Espresso, Finlandia, Kahlua, Mozart Black and Frangelico, and garnished with a chocolate wafer roll.
The best bit? It’s served in a mini Nutella Jar. Cute.
Available Wednesday 5th February to Saturday 8th February
All the Nutella crepes you can imagine
On the lower level of Covent Garden’s famous Piazza you’ll find Crème de la Crepe, masters in the French sweet or savoury treat who are BIG into their Nutella.
Choose from the Cheeky (classic Nutella wrapped in a French crepe); The Cheeky Monkey (with added banana); the Cheeky Cow (Nutella plus super thick whipped cream) or the Nutty Professor (the spread paired with peanut butter).
The Nutella Doughnuts
Super chic Belgravia hotel, The Hari have elevated Nutella-fuelled dishes with their delightful mini doughnuts.
The doughy balls come filled to the brim with Nutella (or caramel if you prefer) and are served with cute mini vanilla milkshakes.
Take a seat in the bar or on the terrace – weather permitting.
Where: 20 Chesham Place, London, SW1X 8HQ, United Kingdom

The Nutella Duffin
If Instagrammable sweet treats and cute interiors are your bag, make a beeline for Bloomsbury institution Bea’s.
In the Nutella department, choose from fluffy pancakes with Nutella, banana and choc chips or their signature Nutella Duffin – a sugar-laden doughnut-cum-muffin.
Instagram's Favourite Waffles
One Google of Chinatown’s Bubblewrap Waffles and you’d think it were illegal to eat one without taking an Instagram pic first. But the insanely photogenic sweet treats are not all style over substance, they taste pretty damn good too and come with a wealth of fillings and toppings. Go for the Nutella, naturally.
We’ve had Nutella pizzas, waffles and doughnuts but have you ever tried the Nutella Naan? The pillowy, airiness of the naan works perfectly with the indulgent sweet sauce and is served with coconut and ice cream. Trust us, it’s delicious.
The Nutella Martini
Christopher’s in Covent Garden are making Nutella chic(ish) with their Nutella Martini. Their dedicated martini bar have a huge selection of the tipples no matter your taste. If that’s chocolate and hazelnut make sure you dive into the Nutella Martini – a mix of Grey Goose La Vanille vodka, Crème de Cacao, cream and Nutella.
Why eat the stuff when you can drink it?
