The mesmeric Gulf of Poets, Portovenere, in Liguria, protrudes from the eastern tip of the coast, and marks a gorgeous stretch of colourful sea villages. The aesthetic will not only blow your mind, but it’ll look darn good on the Gram too… The whole stretch is spellbinding, but we recommend heading to the rocks around the seaside town of Porto Venere, where a grotto is named after Byron. It’s the best place to take in the span of beauty and pop the question.

Lake Louise is simply spellbinding. It’s the lake that makes most want to go to Canada to start off with (one only needs to scroll through the Lake Louise hashtag on Insta to see it’s littered with photos set against its dreamlike landscape). Suffice to say it’s a totally coveted location that would far from disappoint for a proposal. The Victoria Glacier resides in Banff National Park and acts as a tremendous pin-point before a trek about the area. However, if you’re unprepared to battle fellow tourists when trying to snap your winning pic, I highly suggest jumping in a canoe and taking to the waters for the special moment…
Romance Points: The emerald green waters, offset by rugged peaks and glaciers, sparkle captivatingly and make your phone battery run flat within a minute as a result of all the picture taking. You’ll paddle out and either sit dumb-founded in the centre as you take in the sheer velocity of it all or make your way around the lake slowly but surely. Yes, the water is a whopping 5C at best so it’s recommended you don the life jacket at all times, but afterwards you can clasp your hands around a hot choc at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and renew the heat into your bodies as you celebrate!
Constantly touting itself as the most romantic restaurant in the world, the main dining room is dominated by an enormous fireplace, so if avoiding frostbite counts as romantic, then Clos Maggiore lives up to its rep. The food is Procenval and delicious, and the interior, fires aside, is pretty stunning.
Romance points: The stunning spot is shrouded in flora and fauna and a centrepiece fire place sure to heat things up, (if they aren’t already hot enough that is). What with this Covent Garden spots reputation we’re sure it’ll be a superb place for putting a ring on a finger…

Angelina-Jolie’s favoured bohemian bolthole, Phum Baitang in Cambodia, recently opened its second Namibian property in the Karas region. Picture vast plains adorned by luxury tents, 10 in total, sitting atop a granite boulder formed by ancient volcanic eruptions. If you want an incredible proposal spot, it doesn’t get more far removed than this. Here, in the middle of nowhere, you’ll discover the private reserves where leopards and the likes roam free. Decor is 1920s explorer with lashings of luxe, and staff wear black tie and serve cigars on silverware.
Romance Points: In a truly Wild Thornberry’s manner, your time can be spent hot-air ballooning, on horseback safari or e-biking, or if that’s all too tiresome for you then why not make the most of the infinity pool? Now this is proposal goals and a bucket list holiday to boot.

Don a white dressing gown and pretend you haven’t just rolled out of bed and pose in a photo against blossoming red flowers and the La Tour Eiffel after the tears and excitement following the proposal. The Parisian staple has been playing host to various guests since the ripe young age of 1913, and offers exuberantly romantic spots and Alain Ducasse, world-renowned multiple Michelin-starred chef, overseeing all the hotel kitchens. You can’t really go far wrong with a hotel that boasts pools surrounded by mountains can you? Which is why Jade Mountain in St Lucia is quite literally (to litter the text with adjectives) amazing, incredible, mind-blowing, delightful… yep, you get it!
Romance Points: It’s the perfect spot for a proposal, and the kind of place where words don’t really do it justice, with private infinity pools looking out into the Caribbean Sea, cascading koi pools, and coconuts lying around for your posing pleasure. Even the gram won’t know what’s hit it at this south-western coast paradise. Thank us later!

Constance Prince Maurice, in Mauritius is a masterclass in design, from architect Jean Marc Eynaud and designer David Edwards. With an exceptional infinity pool (remember we love an infinity pool) and lush tropical surroundings, the suites are, you guessed it, built on stilts and offer private plunge pools and views out into the Indian Ocean.

This seriously covetable experience takes place at the famed Giraffe Manor in Kenya, making it very high up on our most Instagrammable, and proposal list.
Romance points: The boutique hotels rests on 12 acres of private land within 140 acres of indigenous forest, so not only are the surroundings picture perfect but the shenanigans on the inside are capture-worthy too. The herd are more commonly known as the Rothschild’s giraffes, and they prowl the area in hunt for maple-syruped pancakes and fried eggs. So, if you fancy getting a proposal photo and experience that’ll be the envy of all your friends (and experience something crazily cute at the same time) then head here!
