DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London - Docklands Riverside

New Year’s Eve is about style: enter DoubleTree by Hilton Docklands. Southbank Centre

Quite literally the most iconic place to do New Year in the world. London’s skyline will burst onto the world stage at midnight, and so shall you from one of the terraces of the South Bank Centre, right by all the fun.

This year’s celebration promises to be nothing short of an extravaganza, transformed into a five-floor party destination, with themed rooms taking guests back through the various decades that the Centre has been the focus of celebration. The Piano Works West End

The piano really does WORK on New Year’s Eve at The Piano Works. Grab your best frock and rock up to the black tie dinner and party with a sheath of song-requests at both their West End and Farringdon venues. The tiered pricing starts at just £20 a head, and the live music will be going throughout the night as the live band play request after request. At 2am the party keeps on going thanks to a DJ whose decks will keep on turning until 4am!

The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences

Normally downing five courses before being whisked up to a great height might not be considered a brilliant idea, but at The Athenaeum the feast is courtesy of Michelin Starred Galvin at The Atheneum and the height is the unmissable tenth floor residents’ lounge, The View.

The meal promises to be something to remember, but equally the view, a sweep across St James’s Park and central London beyond just as the entire capital explodes with colour, simply cannot disappoint. And, at £105 per person, nor will the price.

Aqua Shard

You’ll be higher than most of the fireworks themselves up at Aqua Shard. Their five course British menu comes with a glass of Champagne on arrival, three  glasses of paired wines to go with the meal and, of course, a further glass of Champagne to see in the new year itself.
If the £475 dinner is a bit rich (or you’re not) then you can opt for the dinner without the time (though still with Champagne, importantly!) for £395, bar tables £295, or simple bar tickets at £190.

Ivory Vaults

In Medieval times New Year’s Eve was typically celebrated on March 25th, but at The Ivory Vaults don’t expect to wait nearly four months for the chance to enjoy six courses with drinks, an array of entertainment, including professionally trained knights fighting, acrobats, musicians, singers, dancers and, of course, court jesters.

The spectacle will take over the 10,000 square foot historic venue and fill it with medieval entertainment, food, a six course meal and, in authentic style, a disco to keep the NYE party burning until the early hours.

Sea Containers London

Kick off 2020 the right way with Sea Containers London. The Chinese know a thing or two about New Year (watch this space for news about actual Chinese New Year!), but at New Year head for a Chinese experience at Hutong. The Shard’s Northern Chinese restaurant will offer various options for celebrants, from their four course dinner of sharing dishes and arrival Champagne, to an early dinner (same thing but before New Year itself), plus there’s £165 bar tickets. The London Cabaret Club

London Cabaret Club will be embracing F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic novel ‘The Great Gatsby in the stunning surroundings of the art deco classic Bloomsbury Ballroom.  Inspired by the novel, cabaret styles from the ’20s to the present day will be richly represented, not to mention some of the finest costumes ever created for cabaret and some of the West End’s best performers and the UK’s most impressive dance troupes.

Technically one of the first places in London to experience 2020, East London’s InterContinental London – The O2 promises an evening of luxury New Year’s Eve celebrations. Truffle lovers, this one’s for you!

Indulge in a five-course truffle-inspired menu courtesy of M Victoria Street. It’s fiesta time at Aqua Nueva. The Jockey Club

Head back to the ’80s with a New Year’s Eve ball over at Epsom Downs Racecourse. Get your dancing shoes at the ready and groove into 2020 with The Jockey Club’s DJ who’ll be pumping out the disco tunes, alongside a steady flow of two course buffet foods.

Going, going, GONG! It’s going to be 1977 at GŌNG Bar’s Studio 52 New Year’s Eve event, hosted by some of the best-loved drag acts around including Sadie Sinner and Vinegar Strokes! Look forward to a disco extravaganza and dress accordingly. What’s more, the setting, the Shard’s Shangri La hotel promises to wow.

The only way to make the event more memorable would be to travel even further back in time and visit the glamour of the 1950s at TING Restaurant. Six courses including an interactive dessert buffet and paired with fine wines and hosted in ’50s style by drag queen Michael Twaits.

It’s not really New Year’s Eve if you’re not wearing black tie and listening to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
