What To Do This Bank Holiday Weekend – 27th – 30th June
It’s Thursday morning and in about 36 hours it’ll be the start of 72 wonderful hours off… let the countdown begin. What to do with all that time though? If you haven’t made any plans yet then how does an beer festival, an urban fete and a Mexican pop-up sound? Or what about a bottomless brunch and a party on a boat? Here are some of our top choices for this weekend:
Route 37 Beer Festival
Three Days of Craft Beer
What’s a great way to spend the Bank Holiday? On the No.37 route between Clapham and Brixton… why you ask? We’re not telling you to spend your time on public transport, don’t be silly, it’s because beer mates London Beer Lab, The King & Co and We Brought Beer are joining forces for three days of craft beer along the route. The trail takes in a bespoke IPA ‘festival brew’ called Route 37 made by London Beer Lab – it’ll be sold in keg there, in cask at The King & Co and in bottles at We Brought Beer. Other events include a special beer brunch, free beer and a BBQ as well as the chance to try 36 different world craft beers. It’s going to be boozy.

Le Garrick
Bottomless Brunch
There is never a better time to indulge in a bottomless brunch then when you know there is no work on Monday. One of our favourites, Le Garrick is hosting a brunch on the Sunday and Monday – with two hours of unlimited prosecco. With three courses, dishes include French onion soup, goats cheese salad, moules frites, Le Garrick burger and to finish choose from the likes of chocolate fondant or crème brûlée. It starts at 12pm so plenty of time for that much needed lie-in. Hurrah!

SS Atlantica
Party on a 1930s cruise liner
Set sail on a 1930s ocean liner as you embrace the bank holiday in a far more glamorous way than your usual Saturday night. Gliding down the Thames, cabaret, live bands and dancing will follow a real itinerary from a 1930s Atlantic crossing, with classic cocktails and Champagne served up by Bourne & Hollingsworth. Dress code? Of course. For men: dinner suits and starched collars, for ladies: art deco jewels and slinky silk dresses.

Alchemy

Feel a bit cultured this weekend and head to the Southbank Centre for the final weekend of Alchemy – a free ten-day festival of all things South Asian. Catch music, dance, theatre, comedy, literature and (our favourite) vibrant Indian, Pakistani, Afghani and Sri Lankan street food at KERB.

RED Market's Last Days of Shoreditch
Last days of Shoreditch
We’re all for development and love a new venue but when this means one of Shoreditch’s best street food festivals is counting down the days till the bulldozers and cranes move in to build a 5-star hotel, it’s bittersweet to say the least. Make the most of RED Market’s last few months after 6 strong years as they open for summer, welcoming street food traders including Le Bao, East London club nights and Junkyard Golf to seriously go out with a bang.

Le Terraza
Mexican Street Food Pop-up
You know what sounds good to us? Frozen margaritas and Mexican street food – that’s what sounds good. You’re in luck then that pop-up Le Terraza has just opened on the canal-side terrace at Number 90 Bar & Kitchen. Dishes will include the likes of nachos, tacos and quesadillas as well as Mexican superfood salads.
