There’s so much going on this weekend! But then we’re hardly surprised given it’s nearly July and summer is in full flow – yippee! So, what’s on our radar you ask? Well, you can don the roller skates and throw it back to the 60s at an epic roller party, or why not check out how animals make love over at ZSL London Zoo? If that’s caused you to paws for thought, then take some time to peruse other offerings, from big ol’ Negroni guides to summer solstice parties and plenty of hats, heels and horses. It’s set to be a whopper of a weekend…
Who’s ready to party? We certainly are, especially as Nine Lives are throwing a banger of a bash in conjunction with Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice Gin! Summer revolves around gin, let’s face it. We rush, God’s speed, to enjoy gin-based libations after work and sunny climes without them simply wouldn’t be worth it. This is why we can think of no better way to enjoy this Saturday than with gin in hand!
To celebrate the start of summer – finally – and summer solstice, the glorious event will be held at the popular neighbourhood bar, set amongst cobbles and promising epic entertainment such as artist Caroline Young’s makeup magic and body painting, and DJ’s pumping up the volume with punchy, exciting tracks.
Indulge in alcohol-based lip smackers at the open-air bar with highlights of The Wickerman, a sweet-and-sour combination of Hendrick’s floral Midsummer Solstice Gin, cold-brew jasmine tea, tropical pineapple syrup and lemon and Vivid Blooms using gin with rhubarb and ginger cordial.
What’s more, nightfall will welcome all sorts of mysterious activities. We’re talking Hendrick’s actors who will perform immersive rituals – as long as they don’t steal our drink we’re fine! You’ll then traverse the trappings of the exciting basement bar where, we’re told, a parallel universe awaits. If a gin-based universe is for you then indulge in the Dark Side of the Sun cocktail, made with Hendrick’s Orbium Gin, nutty Frangelico liqueur, blueberry puree and fragrant lemon verbena. It’s flipping tasty, we assure you.
Let the good times be-GIN and come along on Saturday, 22nd of June, from 2pm.

Last Friday, The Handbook team experienced all the Friday feels as Longbottom & Co introduced their epic Bloody Mary concoctions to some very weary workers. The Bloody Mary is a hangover hit every time, helping with headaches and tummy rumbles after the tequila slammers from the night before sent you south! Longbottom & Co wanted to seek out the best Bloody Mary and, in doing so, came up with a delicious premium Virgin Mary and a punchy hot sauce.
The result? Well, one of the best Bloody Mary’s to date. Created from proper tomato juice, the mix, which is 100% vegan and gluten free, is garnished and spiced and made using their own Worcester sauce. We simply couldn’t get enough and we’re urging you to rustle up your own this weekend.
