The Handbook’s Fashion & Lifestyle Editor, Astrid Carter, has long loved iconic British brand, The White Company, to bring a sense of calm to her interiors space. Here she picks her favourites from the current collection and shows why they are a must if you love a minimalist interiors aesthetic.

In Partnership With The White Company

I remember the first piece I owned from The White Company in my twenties. Two sweet little tea light holders in motled silver. I still have them and I’m sure I will for years to come. The second, the brand’s signature Elgin Throw, a thoughtful 30th birthday gift clubbed together by some of my dearest girlfriends. Again, it’s still there eight years later (it still looks brand new and has been in the washing machine countless times, FYI), cocooning my bed each night. There’s a bit of a theme here. The White Company makes pieces that will work in your home forever, whether you lean into that clean, minimalist look all-round or are looking for simple but beautifully designed pieces to build your interiors style from.

I’ve perused their latest collection to bring you an edit of my favourite pieces, from the chair that’s firmly top of my wish list to the linens that make great gifts, and the candle that will make your home feel like a five-star hotel…

Top of the wish list…

I’ve been looking for a special chair for a quiet reading corner that feels just mine for quite some time, and this might just be it. Chic pale wood against the playful, tactile feel of sheepskin. Dreamy.

The bedroom game-changers…

If you want your bed to feel like true luxury, here’s my tip: oversized pillows and plump cushions. Seriously, adding these transformed my bed situation, giving it that incredibly plush, five-star hotel luxury experience. I invested in a few sizes from The White Company (in the sale!) a few years back and now I sink into pure comfort every night.

An absolute game-changer if you want your bed to feel like a 5-star hotel.

The chic statement piece…

These chic black frames  are numbered on the reverse to seamlessly match up to two, printed-out templates. Hands down the easiest way to achieve a minimalist gallery wall at home.

My no.1 interiors hack…

Honestly, rechargeable, portable lights have been one of my favourite interiors hacks of the last few years. They are pure magic. From brightening up a cosy reading nook to allowing sundowners at the garden table to lead long into the night, instant, ambient lighting exactly where you need it, no ugly cords in sight.

Linens that make for lovely gifts…

You can’t go wrong with some luxury linens if you’re looking for wedding presents or new house warming gifts.

I’m a sucker for a big bougie candle and The White Company’s are second-to-none in terms of burn time, incredible scents and affordability.
