As Fashion Week is soon to hit London and we can finally start to see a glimmer of spring on the horizon, The Handbook’s Contributing Fashion Editor, Astrid Carter, shares her new fashion finds for February. From the trans-Atlantic collaboration between two much-loved brands to the name ripping up the style rulebook when it comes to evening wear, here are February’s Fashion Heroes…

Sézane X Sea NY

Paris meets New York in this dreamy fashion collaboration between two of my favourite brands, Sézane and Sea NY. The pairing is part of the former’s 10th-year anniversary celebrations and comprises a collection of 40 limited-edition pieces (be quick, some are already sold out) for Spring 2023.

Inspired by the poetry from the two cities, the collection is woven with sustainable materials into the vintage-inspired silhouettes of Sézane and the pretty pastel colour palettes of Sea NY.

Heroes include the quilted patchwork jackets and gilets, a nostalgia-inducing crocheted vest and a plethora of pretty wear-anywhere blouses.

If Only If

I’ve long been a fan of this sustainable fashion brand thanks to their wafty cotton voile nightdresses – that coincidentally are far too good to reserve just for bedtime IMO – and this season, they’ve just launched a slightly sexier, more grown-up duo in 100% pure silk satin.

If Only If’s limited edition Emily slip in rich emerald and Lily mini in soft shell pink are just the ticket if you’re after something understated to slip into this Valentine’s Day. We love the sweet scalloped edging, barely-there straps and intricate hand-appliqué flowers of the Lily design, whilst the Emily could easily be worn for a dinner date-night with an oversized blazer and heels.

Pixie Market

Another Instagram scrolling success, I recently stumbled across this NYC-based label and am lowkey obsessed. Bookmark if you’re a fan of sustainable, ethical vegan leather, understated evening wear or that oversized The Frankie Shop-esque silhouette… or all of the above.

Julie Sergent Ferrari X NA-KD

Corsican architect-turned-fashion influencer, Julie Sergent Ferrari, is the latest Instagram star to collaborate with online brand NA-KD. The collection is a mix of muted tones, oversized shapes and pops of colour, which all sing her signature style.

I love the fact that it’s an influencer collection that translates well to real life. Case in point, excellent trench coats to see you into spring, throw-on blazers and some seriously cool double denim for the weekend.

Filiarmi

Finally, Istanbul-born, London College of Fashion-trained designer Gozde Arig launches her next resort wear line under her label Filiarmi. I’ve fallen for the offbeat but nevertheless super elegant approach to evening wear, from the architectural scalloped hems to the power puff sleeves cocktail dresses. The colour palette is sleek and modern – think coral pinks, LBDs and off-whites, peppered with pops of colour like a cool Azure blue in party-ready taffeta.

This is a collection that has Ibiza holiday written all over it.
