Lisa Kudrow Leads New Netflix Comedy Series No Good Deed

Some TV shows you just have to see based on the cast- and that certainly looks to be the case with No Good Deed, a new series coming to Netflix this week. Starring a cast that includes Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano, Luke Wilson and Linda Cardellini, it follows three different families determined to buy the same house to move into- but they find they might end up regretting having the idea in the first place. Here’s all you need to know.

What is No Good Deed about?

The show is created by Liz Feldman, best known for creating another Netflix series, Dead to Me, and is set in an affluent area of Los Angeles. When a 1920s Spanish-style villa goes up for sale, it attracts the attention of three families who become dead set on buying it for themselves. The picturesque house seems to each of them like it’ll solve all their problems, and things start to get seriously competitive.

Friends star Lisa Kudrow plays Lydia Morgan, while Everybody Loves Raymond’s Ray Romano takes on the role of her husband Paul, the current owners of the villa who are at odds with each other about selling the home where they raised their children. Paul is stressed out by life and determined to retire, but Lydia resists selling a place with so many memories.  But they know that the house they’ve lived in for years holds some dark and dangerous secrets, and they’re not sure how to move forward without them being easily discovered.

Who else stars?

Dead to Me’s Linda Cardellini plays Margo Starling, who’s keen to buy up the Morgan home and flip it for profit while having some secrets of her own beneath the surface. Luke Wilson (Horizon: An American Saga) plays former soap opera star JD Campbell, depressed with his life and hoping to be cast in a new job, and wants to downsize into the Morgan house with his demanding wife. Teyonah Parris (They Cloned Tyrone) plays high-achieving expectant mother Carla, while O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale) plays her husband Dennis, a struggling writer. Another couple deeply interested in the house is Leslie (Abbi Jacobson) and Sarah (Poppy Liu), who have been keeping an eye on it for a long time, and while their relationship seems strong, they too have secrets of their own.

The rest of the cast includes Dennis Leary (Draft Day), Matt Rogers (Fairview), Anna Maria Horsford (Bel-Air), Kate Moennig (Squealer) and Linda Lavin (Alice). The film is set to arrive on Netflix on 12th December.
