They may be a classic, but they ruled the runways for spring/summer ’24. Spotted everywhere (literally) from Stella McCartney to Altuzarra, you can expect to see polka dots flooding all your favourite high street stores this summer. If you weren’t a fan before, you will be now.

For some, the dotty dress is too cutesy; too feminine or soft. I get it, but polka dots in 2024 are all that and more. Yes, they offer a girlish frivolity, but paired with bold, striking accessories they can be powerful and incredibly beautiful. At Altuzarra, models sashayed down the catwalk in neon green heels with balloon-hem dresses emblazoned with giant spots. Stella McCartney went for mini and tiered numbers that looked both classy and sexy.

Similarly, LA brand and influencer favourite, Reformation is all over the trend and clearly catering for the demand. Expect to find everything from spotted bikinis to statement midi skirts all of which would complete your holiday wardrobe. As would the pretty polka dot, lace-trimmed slips available at both Rixo and Réalisation. For something of a similar ilk with less of a price tag, you know where to head to. Zara, of course.

Alternatively, look to Essential Antwerp, and its supersized spots on blouson-sleeved tops, jumpsuits and parkas for a dose of quirky styling. They are seriously fabulous. And speaking of quirky, you could consider clashing prints and wearing a polka dot top with striped trousers. I’m here for that. However you decide to rock the dots, I guarantee they will look ever so fashion.
