“I’m A Style Editor Who’s Obsessed With Polka Dots”

It’s a classic for a reason, but the humble polka dot is currently the talk of the town. Playful yet chic, this timeless print works for every style personality, especially mine.
There is no hiding from polka dots this season. They are everywhere. But, unlike say, the latest balloon trousers, it’s so much easier to make these dots your own. Following appearances on the catwalks at Dries Van Noten, Khaite and Valentino, content creators have introduced the graphic print into their wardrobes with notes of both sophistication and cutesy styling. From micro dots to larger statement prints, it’s hard to ignore the versatility. Think floaty dresses and cute skirts for a softer, feminine vibe, delicate blouses with tailoring or maximalist spotty jeans for a more impactful feel. The polka dot offers something for everyone.
Unsurprisingly, Zara has nailed the trend. Pop on over, and you’ll discover everything from summer slips to crop tops. Similarly, Mango is a fashion treasure trove of polka dots. The temptation was too much for me, with their blouses and spotty jeans. And yes, I purchased. Both Nobody’s Child and Omnes were also early adopters of the trend, and each features its own polka dot edits. The likes of Rixo and Reformation remain your go-tos for a more boutique, mid-range shopping treat.

Essentially, the look for SS26 is more grown-up than the seasons before. It feels fresher, more contemporary, with less of a retro, vintage-inspired fit. Let’s just say this is not a Minnie Mouse kinda polka dot.
