“This £14 High Street Shirt Is Such A Find”

If you’re going to invest in a wardrobe piece, the cost-per-wear justification works best when it’s a staple item. Think: leather, tailoring, jewellery – the kind of thing you plan to wear for many years to come. I have, however, found a timeless white shirt on the high street, and it’s incredibly affordable – without compromising on the material.
This shirt comes in at just £14 – it’s 100% cotton though, and has a slightly thicker texture, which helps it hold the structured, luxe shape.

The £14 shirt
As far as wardrobe staples go, a classic white shirt is perhaps the most foundational – alongside great jeans and a killer pair of boots. What drew me to this style initially is the timeless yet luxe feel. The thicker fabric means it keeps its shape nicely. My gripe with thinner blouses and shirts with strong lines is that when they’re so relaxed, they look less polished.
Another detail I enjoy about this piece is that it’s got longer, double cuffs. Of course, you can roll them up and button them (AKA, how they’re designed to be worn), but you can also button them up while keeping them unrolled, or even leave them completely open, for a less conventional styling option.
Top tip: I sized down to an XS, which fits me well across the shoulders without having too much excess fabric around the torso.
While the exact style isn’t available to shop online just yet, there are plenty of similar styles you can order. My recc? Try checking in-store first.
