The New Trailer For Rivals Just Dropped, Here’s Everything You Need To Know
The countdown is officially on for part 2 of Rivals season 2, and I, for one, could not be more excited. The trailer for the final six episodes of Dame Jilly Cooper’s raunchy drama dropped yesterday, and it promises all the outlandish scandal we’ve come to expect. Here’s everything we know so far.
What happened in part one?
Part one opened with Tony returning from Cameron’s attack and blackmailing her into coming back to Corinium in exchange for his silence to the police. Meanwhile, Rupert lost nearly everything after a very public attack on his reputation.
There was also plenty of scandal, as an affair unravelled between Tony and Maud to get back at Declan. The mid-season finale played out during the Great Storm of 1987. Monica told Tony she was leaving him and drove through the storm to take Caitlin home, but died in a car accident before they made it back. The episode ends with Rupert telling Tony the news.
What does the trailer tell us?
The trailer picks up in the aftermath of Monica’s death, with her funeral on the cards as well as more of the Corinium v Venturer battle. Tony and Declan’s fight for the Cotswolds crown reaches fever pitch, while Rupert is forced to confront his own personal demons.
Expect the return of all your favourite Rutshire faces, as well as plenty of new characters on the screen. Rachael Stirling joins as Monica’s younger sister Araminta Pemberton, alongside Rupert Evans as headmaster David Hawkley and Santiago Cabrera as Argentinian polo legend Alejandro Mendoza.
