Ruffles Is The Pretty Interiors Trend To Update For Your Home This Summer
From gentle frills to dramatic ruffles, these soft design details are currently standing out in all the latest interiors collections. We’re seeing plenty of flounce from some of our favourite brands and one thing’s for certain, more-is-more is definitely the approach.
After a whimsical touch to your home? Bored of stripes (surely that could never happen)? Or maybe you’re after some softness against the hard lines of a minimalist living room? Well, it’s definitely time you take note of the trend currently dominating the interiors world. Ruffles are where it’s at; on cushions, napkins, bedspreads, you name it, if it’s got that frill trim, it’s in.
Unsurprisingly, there’s plenty of dainty pieces with subtle vintage vibes around, specifically from Somerset-born Coco & Wolf. Notably, their cushions, which each come with an elegant ruffled frill in iconic Liberty prints. Moreover, the brand has recently collaborated with British lighting brand, BeauVamp to produce the D’Anjo Tiffany ruffle lampshade. Expertly crafted using Tana Lawn™ cotton which has been hand-stitched and pleated around a bespoke bronze frame with the addition of a ruffle skirt, a must for any cottagecore devotee.
Another name creating modern interpretations of age-old textile traditions has got to be ProjektiTyyny. The Nordic homeware brand is one of my favourites, with its quirky campaign shots and delicious soft furnishings. From ruffle trim tablecloths to the most beautiful bed canopies handmade from over 6m of super soft gingham linen, you’ll be hard pushed not to find a few ruffles in this collection.
ProjektiTyyny is a truly beautiful brand which just happens to do ruffles rather well – so well, we want the whole collection.

However, perhaps you’re more of a maximalist craving out-there prints and colours. If so, you’ve got to check out the latest collab between Anthropologie and Pernille Rosenkilde. The Copenhagen-based stylist, influencer and designer has produced a seriously fun range that’s both quirky and playful. Yes, the wine glasses are stunning, but it’s the cocktail napkins that will definitely get your guests talking. Much like the bold pink stripe napkins from ALB x KITRI with, you’ve guessed it, the most flamboyant frilled edges.
So you see, checkerboard prints, bold stripes and scalloped edges may still be top of the list, but for now it’s all about those ruffles…

Frill trims aren’t just about chintz, they can be fun, bold and quirky. Look to Amuse La Bouche for inspiration. Their ruffle-edged pieces are so fabulous, they’ve even collabed with fashion brand, Kitri.
