Bringing 1920s Hollywood glamour to London, The Savoy Grill has undergone a beautiful transformation and has already stolen our hearts as this year’s hottest revival.

On Monday 23rd April, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants reopened the doors of London’s most famous dining room, complete with a refreshed look, elevated menu and new wine experience.

Paying homage to its upcoming 125th anniversary, the iconic Savoy Grill’s new look has been brought to life by multi-award-winning design studio Afroditi. Afroditi Krassa and the team have reimagined the space, drawing inspiration from the glamorous 1920s Hollywood Regency style.

Nodding to that Gatsby era we all know and love, expect opulent deep-red velvet-lined booths, blush silk-lined walls and metallic and glass accents completing the look. It’s luxurious yet comfortable, with British artisanal production and craftsmanship celebrated through bespoke features. Including the handmade feather tiles, scalloped pewter bar and specially commissioned artwork by celebrated fashion illustrator Thom Botwood.

Always known for its charm and elegance, several poignant features have been retained, from Churchill’s faovurite clock and Swarovski chandeliers to the original layout of the table to honour the dining room’s long history.

On the food front, Executive Head Chef Michael Turner has elevated the menu. Championing seasonal ingredients, menu highlights include Louet-Feisser oysters; lobster thermidor; dock à l’orange; and of course, Gordon Ramsay’s signature beef Wellington. The Grill will also serve an Arnold Bennett soufflé, a nod to the famous omelette Arnold Bennett invented at the Grill in 1929.

A new addition to the Savoy Grill is the exclusive Wine Experience Room. The walnut wood-lined private room is home to hundreds of world-class bottles. Guests are invited to select their own wines with guidance from the restaurant’s Head of Wine and Sommeliers before the sommeliers create a menu centred around the wines. A truly sensory and unique experience, expect to journey through the history of the wines and dishes that pair perfectly with each variety. The Grill’s renowned Chef’s Table returns too for those wanting to amp up their experience.
