There’s no denying that there’s an array of hyper cool Mexican restaurants across the country, but what if you fancy a spicy margarita, giant bowl of nachos and tasty tortilla in the comfort of your own home? No hay problema! We’ve found everything (bar the food) to set the vibe for your perfect Taco Tuesday night in.

Summer evenings lend themselves to al fresco dining, tongue tingling cocktails and, of course, the colourful fiesta feels of a Mexican feast. We’re talking fresh fish tacos, chicken and rice burritos, flaming hot enchiladas… hungry yet? Honestly, I’m not sure anything brings friends and family together quite like a night filled with spicy margaritas and a rainbow-hued spread of mouth-watering food. I say bring on Taco Tuesday,

Setting the scene is fairly straightforward. Once you’ve perfected your arsenal of spice-infused recipes, the main goal is to fill your table with colour, then more colour. Look for oversized platters and snack bowls, like Wicklewood’s tortilla bowl. Inspired by traditional Majolica ceramics from Mexico, it’s the result of an exclusive collaboration with artist Gorky Gonzalez. If you only opt for one thing, I’d definitely go for this hand-painted beauty. Filled with guac and warm tortilla crisps, it’s sure to impress.

Stores like the Mexgrocer and Mexican Mama have a wealth of options on top of their sauces, beans and chillies. Such as tortilla warmers and presses, lemon juicers and Papel Picado paper decorations. Plus you can find exquisite glassware decorated with delicate cacti at Maison Margaux and Anthropologie. It’s not like we need an excuse to pour a Picante, but if there’s designer glasses to drink from… well, it would be rude not to. Salud!
