Try something new at Bar Des Prés
For the month of January, the chic restaurant located in the heart of Mayfair will be celebrating Galette des Rois, with a limited edition Franco-East Asian Lemon and Yuzu Galette. Also known as the Three Kings cake, it’s designed to celebrate Epiphany.
Putting their signature East Asian twist on the classic recipe, Head Chef Cyril and the team’s unique addition of Yuzu offers distinctively tart and tropical flavours, combining lemon and yuzu, encased in golden puff pastry and almond yuzu cream.

Enjoy this special Ayurvedic dining experience
Michelin-starred Indian restaurant, Benares, is doing January a little differently, with a three-course set menu centred around the Ayurvedic principles. This ancient Indian medical system looks at different energy types within the body, through spices, ingredients and textures in our food. Executive chef Sameer Taneja has created a menu to aid the transition into the cooler months, complete with warming flavours, spices and herbs associated with Pitta (the Dosha associated with fire and water) used to create balance and harmony within the body.
This three-course menu features dishes such as chestnut and celeriac samosa tartlet; and kale kofta with winter squash nihari and kuttu puri. All served alongside a fiery turmeric toddy.

Catch the Open All Hours exhibition
With most of us working remote or hybrid these days, it’s hard to find that work-life balance. Add into that the constant pressure from colleagues, the media and social media that often express we have to always be working and productive, it can get a lot. 198’s new exhibition explores this phenomenon and the idea of a 24/7 culture of waking, work and productivity.
Running until 21st January, the Open All Hours takes a look at the pressurised relationship individuals have with time, productivity and the pace of our modern, often digitalised world.
